This is super cool
I really dig it...but battery packaging is going to be a challenge.
That definitely will be the biggest issue trying to retrofit into an older vehicle. While the Blazer is neat as a proof of concept, the vehicle has lost most of its utility due to the battery pack.

These probably won't be taking off until battery technology improves enough to the point where the packs are about the same size as a gas tank.

Funny, I have a buddy at work who has a G80 and he actually plastidipped all of the chrome stuff to black (the car is maroon) and it looks significantly better. Plastidip kinda sucks as it ages :doe:

Yea it looks terribad 6 months in. It is actually a huge detractor for me. If anyone plastidipped any part of their car I wouldn't buy it.

So the interesting part is...
Toyota made 2500 of them. And within the last 3 months 3 hit BAT, in THIS EXACT combo (minus trans) 2 out of 250 manuals hit BAT. That is pretty damn insane. This is signaling some sort of bubble imo.

I don't know if I'm just noticing them due to your search, but I see multiple FJs any time I leave the house here, kind of interesting considering there weren't all that many made relative to many vehicles.

I am not convinced the values can hold but I guess we'll see. $40K for a 10 year old :truk: is just nuts, especially when you can go out and buy a brand new Tacoma, 4R, Wrangler, Defender, and soon Broncbro for the same price range or even less in some cases.

Based on the internet, Taco is over 3' longer :impressive:

188" for JLU versus 225" for Taco.

My taco is 212" the 225" is the long bed. The interesting part is the turning radius for my taco is more narrow than the Wrangler which is :impressive:

yea a regular FJ is not THAT rare. Around 200k of them out there in the ether. but a TRAIL TEAMs 2014 is a RARE AF bird...
Yoder sold 14k of them in 2014
2500 Trail teams
250 with a manual trans
2 hit BAT in the last 2 months (manuals) and 1 auto. And they are super low mile cherry examples that never got driven.

:word: that is :impressive: as I feel the Jeep's isn't even bad. Both can turn in what feels like half the space of my :poorvette: , which is 10" shorter than :jeep:

The shocking vehicle for me was the 370z which was probably the best of all the cars I owned. 34 you could park that bitch anywhere.

The m3 was abysmal with the :265: up front, I think it was worse than the taco.

This becomes an issue on tight trails and switchbacks.

Seems like people are cashing out of these as "collector" items...certainly one sign of a bubble.

I just think back to 08 when used Prius were selling for more than new and worthless Geo Metros were $10k cars. Bubbles burst.
