Fuck it, keep it. They chose the half assed systems they chose. Still in business apparently. I don't really understand Wayfair. I ordered some special dorm fridge for my daughter that had a 5-6 week delivery time. WTF???????????? Then UCLA said NOPE, online classes, so I cancelled. The cancellation was seamless.wap wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 8:42 pm Ok guys, looking for feedback here.
Story time.
Back in late June I placed an order with Wayfare.com for 2 items, one of which was a new window air conditioner, with an advertised delivery date of early July. First item delivered as planned but while tracking the shipment it was noted that the AC was backordered to late September. Since we had a lot of summer ahead of us I cancelled the AC order and bought it from ABT, who delivered it next day. I checked my CC on line a couple times to make sure I wasn't billed for the AC, which I wasn't. I thought nothing more about it until last Saturday, Sept 7, when, you guessed it, I found the AC on my front porch. First thing I did is check my CC on line again but they still didn't bill me. I called them last Wednesday evening, the 9th, to let them know what happened and was told I'd get a call back in 24 to 72 hours to schedule a pick up date. Well, I never heard from them. So I just now tried to call them again and got trapped in voicemail purgatory and got a recording saying their customer service department was closed. Tried twice more to get through and finally got a sales dude. I explained my situ, reminded him that, by law, if I get shipped something I did not ask for, I don't have to pay for it and can keep it, so I was trying to do Wayfare a favor, and, in fact, this was my SECOND attempt to do so. He then told me that since he was just in sales he couldn't help me but he'd transfer me to someone who could. Great, thanks. He then transferred me to the same automated purgatory that I was in a few minutes before.
So, do I try a third time, or do I say fuck it, I've done enough and just keep the stupid thing? Actually, it would technically be a forth attempt because I first tried to email them through their website but it kept giving me an error message so my email never went through. I just checked again now and my CC has still not been billed.
I'm leaning toward calling once more tomorrow a little earlier because when I called last week and got through it was a few minutes before 6:56 pm CST but today I called at 7:06 pm. But seriously, how much of my personal time do I continue to devote to this ?

Maybe, maybe not. They told me before that they'd call to arrange a pick up and it didn't happen. I mean, we already own 6 window units so it's not like we need another one, but I will keep it if I don't hear from them on Monday and donate one of the old ones.

You were honest from the first phone call and email you sent. Their system being dumb does not make you less honest of a person.

Here's a Wayfair story...
We ordered a 4 piece outdoor set...love seat, 2 chairs, coffee table.
1 box arrives after a few days. I open it and there's a bunch of broken pieces inside. Great. I take everything out and find enough to build the loveseat and table, but where are the chairs? calls customer service to let them know, and they tell us to leave it all on the porch and FedEx would come take it. She explains that it's a broken mess of pieces and there's no way we can really rebox it, they claim "it's ok, FedEx will take it". goes and says she doesn't want a bunch of broken furniture pieces sitting on the porch for who knows how long, a manager got involved and eventually told us to just throw it all away. They refunded our money because they "couldn't find the chairs, they should be there".
Well, I'm resourceful and used wood glue and clamps to fix the broken pieces and assemble the couch and table because I'd rather use them then them end up in a landfill. Cool.
A full month later, a box shows up, and it's the chairs! calls Wayfair to make sure we weren't charged or something. They said they have no record of our order after it was cancelled and refunded and that the chairs shouldn't be there. Because the order was cancelled, they had no way to return the chairs, so they said to throw them away.
So again, to not contribute more to the landfill, I built the chairs and we still use the set to this day.

Steak and mac n cheese last night. Grabbed a box of Texas toast from Target on my way home from the gym too since I’d been craving garlic bread. Ate way too much, but it was so fucking good.

Fack, I went into work for an emergency breakdown at 7pm last night, didnt get home until 430am. Yet surprisingly feel ok. I think it will hit me later
My younger kid woke up with the sniffles, wife took the day off originally so we could have a celebration lunch for her accomplishments at work lately but now they are online to have him tested for the VID. Its standard protocol with school back up and running, catch a cold - get the test. nonetheless.
I'll be in Windsor for some work, training staff on Sat morning so I need to get a hotel room and sleep there tonight. Not sure if I should get a cheap one and profit or max out my allowance and stay in a joint yet. Literally just need a bed from 11am to 6am. I'm leaning towards maxing it out and going with quality.

Them telling you to "dispose of" the product on a recorded phone line is purely for liability purposes and to cover their ass from a transactional perspective. This isn't just a Wayfair thing. used to work at Chewy (online pet retailer) and anytime someone wanted to return an item that was under $x (would cost more/be more wasteful to ship it back especially if it was already opened) they would just tell the customers to "dispose of the product in a safe way".Detroit wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 10:22 am Here's a Wayfair story...

They 100% know you will keep it an use it. It's just a way for them to remove liability if the dog didn't like the food, but you kept it and fed it to the dog anyways and now the dog has health issues you can't sue them since they instructed you to dispose of it on the recorded call. Or in your scenario you build the chairs and then fall and bust your tailbone or something, you can't sue them because they told you to toss it.

I’m off work today so gonna head to the gym this morning and then a little later we’re heading up to Long Beach to catch the ferry to Catalina Island. Grabbed a little hotel room out there for the weekend for Michelle’s birthday.

Guess I'm not the only one who had a experience with them. Well, now I hope I don't hear from them on Monday.

My garage windows crank open from the bottom. Can't put an AC in them.
