That is ... I have been passed by cops while traveling at 90+ in CA many times with no issue, that is a no-go here. You simply wouldn't drive a that fast though because it is awful. So you may actually get better highway MPG in a than a MINI in California
And on regular ! Then again I drive a 110hp taco @85 and that’s all she’s got
You can much easier go 85-90 in the , I just personally find it to be rather unpleasant/terrifying. I have embraced taking back highways and just enjoying the journey at 65, which also seems to result in the 27 average.

I crack 40 in the mini at 60-65. But I my
Sahara got decent mpg on the minivan tires.
I saw an NYT article today that said used car prices have risen 16% since the pandemic started. Dealers have used 2019 GTI Rabbits listed for more than I paid for mine new.
Guess it was good that I bought mine 4 months ago!
Where are these mangos?

I don't understand anything anymore.
Prices are rising because all the sudden there is insatiable demand for anything and everything ...
I'll be honest, it's certainly a nice time to clear shit out of my basement. It's how I've been financing the Porsche project.
I feel the same. I sold a bunch of older camera gear and went down to one active camera kit. Sold some other tech stuff, and I think today I'm going to sell my Quick Jack to a friend.
It's a bit refreshing to clear things out, especially when you get a decent return.
Right?! It's so unimaginative. The first Grand Wagoneer in 1963 was in the market. Nobody had ever made a 4x4 SUV with luxury features in it (power steering, brakes, and windows standard, etc) to that point.
This is just copying others with a brand not many people care about anymore.
So is the upscale Soccer Mom audience that is it's target. Not every vehicle can be a 392 Wrongler with 37s.

Yes it's a cool car. But prepare the lube/sawdust.
So my buddy sold his JL for 50,000. It was purchased new for $47,800 after 8k off or whatnot.... in 2018, and 33k miles ago. Granted it has some mods ... but still

Probably wouldn't hurt to check the Vroom/Carvana/etc. sphere and get some appraisals

New normal boo. Whatever money you think you have ... *.80 the stimmy sent inflation soaring
Can you buy new JLs for the same price or are they unobtainium by you? Here, there's plenty of new JL/T to chose from, I'm not sure used values are as strong.
Talked to about selling our JL to Carvana, and she said she'd just want another one, so is there really any benefit?
That's the key here. Sure you can make good money selling a car right now, bit replacing it will be quite the challenge it seems.

Stay the course, buy out the JT and enjoy having one less thing to worry about in the long term.

Yea, still what to do with my truck, but I think the JL will stay a while.

Bro. I’ll apologize for this later but you are tremendously overthinking this. If you will have any regrets offing this truck because sentimental value + color + whatever else attracts you to your specific JT then it’s worth it. You effectively made a huge move in your life and if you’re going to make any decisions for the long term including vehicles NOW is the time to do it. Im tired of the spectrum of and
You guys are lining yourself up for borderline retirement with this entire move. Spare a few thousand to get the car you know you will keep unless it gets totaled or has a catastrophic failure

Even better than our offer by Carvana to give us our pre tax new price for it.
I think I'd have a hard time talking to go back to the Fusion life
FWIW, I think certain vehicles favored by this forum are disproportionately up. Things like Tacomas and Jeeps are desired because they give people a sense of freedom that they feel has been taken away during the 'VID.

Well, it's actually the retirement thing that has me rethinking dumping $45k into a vehicle. That's a lot of cash that could be put to use elsewhere...mostly investments to make sure retirement is real.

You could always get a used RAM for like $10-15K and that MINI you've been desiring.
These are the scenarios playing through my head for sure. I'm not sure I can find an older Ram that cheap, but a Ram for $10-$15k and a MINI or Abarf for the same would still save me $15-$20k over buying the JT. Especially as I'm kind of missing fun cars ATM.
I'll be spinning scenarios for a while until I'm forced to do something with the truck.

I have a buddy here looking to sell a 2009 RAM with 5.7 (four door), he's had it a long time, so it should be rust free. Let me know if you want me to connect you guys.

I am on board with mini + truk . Obviously
Btw how does your woman feel about them ?
Woman would absolutely lose her mind if I suggested going back to 3 cars. She doesn't care what I get, but absolutely does not want 3 cars for some reason. I don't really care if a beater truck sits outside, but she has an irrational hatred for more than one vehicle per person.
I'm thinking I can get around that objection by agreeing to go full on the gourmet appliances she wants. Will probably cost more than a MINI, so she can if I decide to go that way.

I told my wife if any more house shit comes home, I am buying a "vintage" Honda. She accepted and said she wouldn't buy more house shit.
