You better get a BF TRE plate. I’m sure we can crowdfund it too.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 3:54 pmSo here’s the thing. NJ gives me a 2k tax krebitz by trading in, I pay zero tax on the replacement vehicle.
I’d have to find a truck at $16k or less in the future to justify selling and sitting on the stack of cash to make that worthwhile. I don’t see used values dropping that much in the next 6 months. And I need a replacement vehicle.
By that metric... I guess I’m gonna fucking send it boys.

I am debating it, I was specifically instructed not to move any money until I get the keys (Tomorrow). Just signed final paperwork today in a weird Covid notary house visit.
I'd be paying cash... so I am sort of debating whether or not it is worth it... I don't like to be told that something like a truk is made out of unobtanium and it is more desirable than a Covid vaccine just because there is a very temporary supply disruption. Unlike most people I have no trouble waiting. doesn't seem to mind it and told me to get it... so it really is up to me...

See if it's still there after you close on the house, if it is, go for it.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 5:21 pm I am debating it, I was specifically instructed not to move any money until I get the keys (Tomorrow). Just signed paperwork today.

you're trying to save money. And taxes on a 15k vehicle are what... $1200? for ya? seems like a spit in the bucket compared to the 3k in depreciation the JGC will burn through by december. 30.5 for that thing is insane, take it and run.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 3:54 pmSo here’s the thing. If I were you I'd just trade the damn thing in, and minimize my expenses until you figure out the cash flow sitch, and then make a move on something by winter, as the supply situation will be quite different.

I don’t know man, every time you buy a car you spend another 1500-2000 with various wheels/tires/mods etc I think it’s time you either stick with the jeep or something else that has staying power. And I can’t just go and sell the JGC for $31.5k to the dealer and back out of the deal. Not how it works. I’d then have to hunt for another dealer to give me the same amount without my buying a car from them. Not sure how likely that is.
Haven’t submitted a Vroom buyout offer lately, though. They offered me $30k about a month ago.
Regardless, I don’t see the used car market correcting by that much in 6 months. I think it’s gonna be fucked for a while. I need a vehicle now. Period. I’ve got the trailer that I need to be able to tow around, and the R53 is still in pieces - just been too damn hot to work on it.
I just want to get ahead of the curve, because I don’t see things getting better. I’d rather have a $12k loan hanging over my head than $25k.

Sell a bike? You guys have more $$ tied up in those than Waxer does in handguns.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:28 pm$1500 is $1500.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 5:23 pm

The cost of keeping it is retarded.
$500/mo payment
$150/mo insurance
Plus depreciation and inevitable street damage
All to not use it

Hybrid suvs are dope. Yeah id sell it for sure then. has a rx400h which is even in its older age. 25mpg going 75 is amazing in a brick. She still wants me to get a raptor or diesel to tow a trailer. If you don't commute the raptor is the perfect one vehicle car. Quick, reliable, safe, duty ready, not afraid of people destroying it.
Just ignore the 8mpg when towing i guess? 36 miles one way to work 14 days a month. Fuel will hurt lol

I haven't begun monitoring raptor prices until now

Sometimes I'm actually relieved when a vehicle I've been eyeing sells. Makes the decision to not pull the trigger easy![user not found] wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 10:03 am Well, decision made for me - truck sold.
