Nice. The Optrel was also something I wanted to be able to try on and see if I like it. From the reviews I read, some said that the design can take some getting used to due to the lens being much closer to your eyes.
So I bought some useless junk recently...

I googled Lincoln as a viking and only came up with this.Huckleberry wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 11:57 amThe Lincoln Viking 3350.
It is a very nice helmet that doesn't break the wallet. I found it for $215 from IOC Welding Supplies.

at all for thetroyguitar wrote: ↑Wed Mar 18, 2020 1:19 pm Speaking of magical color combos, I changed my mind and went for a cheapass guitar instead of doing nothing. I wanted a decent 6-string to start a fun cover band when the plague ends, everything I own anymore is 7. I was originally looking at $1-2k stuff, decided that is too much for now. This is pretty for $200.

Yes.
The floor fell out, and it fell out fast. I work at a dealership 5 miles down the road from him that sells ~120 new and 90 used cars on an average month.
We’ve sold 3 cars this week. Two were scheduled deliveries from last Saturday. The sales department had one customer today.
On the service end of things I’ve dropped from 120-130 cars to around 50 per day, and I have only 15 appointments tomorrow.

Blew $175 on a POC helmet yesterday. I'm sure they're cheaper online, but figured I'd throw the LBI a bone before they have to close down. It is the most light and comfy helmet I've ever experienced.
My Giro was good, but it may have saved my life earlier this week, so it's time to retire it and move on.

Is the business model really so bad that a couple dead months can't be survived? I mean, this situation sucks a lot for a lot of businesses but damn, you'd think with the amount of money going in/out of those places, they'd be a bit more liquid than that.fledonfoot wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 9:32 pmYes.

The initial panic might. The long term effects of regular people with average wages losing that 1-2 week buffer will last far longer. And most people are paycheck to paycheck.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 12:03 amfledonfoot wrote:

By the time everyone is paid - staff, mortgage, utilities, advertising, insurance, manufacturer.. all the small things - the owner puts about $20-30k into his bank account. Costs are around 95 cents for every dollar a customer pays us (and that’s considered above average) and I need 90 cars a day coming in and spending normal levels of money to break even given the scale of our operation and services offered. I’m getting 40-60 right now for just oil changes.D Griff wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 8:19 amIs the business model really so bad that a couple dead months can't be survived? My sales department is generally break even to a $10k loss on the sale of new cars every month, and the F&I department falls somewhere close to what service brings in.
Take away the customers and it dries up fast. It costs A LOT of money to operate a dealership.

Luckily we print credit cards faster than the treasury prints cash and people here have almost zero reservations about spending money they don't have (see the people racking up their credit cards for T.P. and hand sanitizer).fledonfoot wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 8:23 amThe initial panic might. I just want something I can practice and learn on that isn't plugged in all the time. I really, really suck and need to spend some serious hours practicing to get back to only really sucking.

Fender play app is doing 30 day or 3 months free or something right now during all of this. I know how to play, but signed up for it anyways since I’ve never had actual lessons and want to get better.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 6:33 pmHah..
