Still in the military. Moved to Texas.Grambles wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 12:51 pmEngineering? .....You could say that. I've moved about 3 spots higher now and do a lot of management, business and planning. Hence most of my absence from the forums for years. I figured I would drop by and say hello...
I've seen some of our younger engineers get MK6s, MK7s...and often am reminded of those days. Such arrogance on my part.....meh. I recently had a discussion with a fellow asking me questions about my intake thread on MK6.
Nuff bout me, what about y'all?
Sold the mk6 bought a miata. Hate the miata(always breaking). Bought the MK4 R32 track car from New German Performance. https://www.ngpracing.com/?page_id=4056 Drive the shit out of it. Had my first HPDE track day this weekend and now im hooked.

Wife still can't WFH even though her job is 100% phone+computer stuff and she's permanently on immunosuppressants - and her reports are not in the country. I'm starting to be concerned between that and everything being shut down. Not really anything that we can do about it

Tell her to feign Coronavirus and quarantine herself. She’s at a HUGE risk.

I’d be bringing the concerns to HR if she hasn’t already done so.

Positive update: apparently she never actually asked (to avoid being labeled lazy/weak/whateverthefuckstupidoldpeoplethinkaboutWFH) and was waiting for them to make some kind of big announcement which has yet to happen but should have...
I guess this morning she decided to be a man(ager) and informed the boss that she'd be WFH starting Monday.
Looks like I need to go buy more food, she normally buys breakfast and lunch at work.

We opened the doors at 715AM. We typically service 120-140 cars a day and have people lined up at the door waiting. By 10AM I've usually done $8-10k in business.
By 10AM today I've done four oil changes, a tire rotation and a recall, to the tune of $400 (including what Toyota pays me for the recall), on five cars.
On top of that, my rental manager spent the weekend with someone whose husband is presumptive positive. I just sent her home to go get tested and sit out the 14 days.
Needless to say, people are freaking the fuck out here.

Sucks because actual at risk people have even more increased risks of death from all the retards.

Global recession is all but guaranteed at this point.
At least we should have cheap gas.
