I'd rather just buy a brand new JL for $5k more.

Max is obsessed with overpaying for an FJ. It's all part of the heart of darkness wrestling with his internal beancounter. We're all good and bad bro. Soup.
Curious what you think... I find it to be a really uncomfortable tall guy car, the seating position is just heinous from what I recall. I have two pretty tall friends who own them though somax225 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 12:47 pmYep but the reason for that is quite clear ... 0 competition. You gotta go 4 runner to get close to that .. and that’s either 43 or 50k for the full turd bro ... or a taco for 37 hence me cross shopping, yet I haven’t driven a 3.5 powered one, the 4.0 was great.
Once you dip under 30k used the market is total shit, high mile jks 100k+ mile trucks ... just disgusting.
I would much rather a lower spec than a Tacoma all day long, but the 4.0/6-speed certainly was a decent combo in the 'yotas.
I’ve never driven a new 4Runner but found it immensely more comfy as a passenger both front seat and back.[user not found] wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 10:43 amI reaaaaaaallly wanted to like the Tacoma. But I found the seating position miserable for me in all but the 2020s with the adjustable seat height feature. The 4Runner fit me so much better.D Griff wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 7:06 am

Also, the 4Runner has a yuge backseat that will house a carrier handily.

I will let you know once I get around to it, I am pretty early in my search for it and my main two issues are the 3.5 and the truk bed, I have no use for either. But I may perhaps once get our 7 figure fixer and :Pinterest: kicks inD Griff wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 7:06 amCurious what you think... I bought a storm door yesterday with a sedan, done pavers, rock, mulch, and even my 2’x4’x7’ shed thing with themax225 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 10:54 amI will let you know once I get around to it, I am pretty early in my search for it and my main two issues are the 3.5 and the truk bed, I have no use for either. Link to a comparable Jeep for 16k? Cheapest jk is probably low 20s and it doesn’t quite ride as nice as the FJ, and unless the trim is rubi which brings it to 30k, the FJ performs better off road as well.

Pretty ideal for what Max is looking for TBH.

Yea I think the wheelbase is somewhere in between a 2 door and a 4 door. It has a back seat that is usable and mostly id be using it for 2 people.. the FJ trunk is significantly bigger than the JL even in 4 door trim. Which is all what I’m looking for. I can’t handle a 2 door Jeep, the FJ is perfectly sized in that respect.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 12:36 pmThe FJ is in a party of one.

Ideally I would get a 2010+ but the price moves to 25k+ which seems stupid.. sub 20k keeps it in disposable “toy” territory. And it can’t possibly drop much further than that.
The question is whether I should wait for the bronco, but that thing is still quite a bit away, solid year I’d say, 6 months for the Defender. And both will be at least double what the older fj will run.
What do y’all think
