Whole foods cooked and prepped by you if you have the time is absolutely your best bet for losing weight.

Cooking whole foods was a yuuge piece of me when I went on my journey.

I tried everything else. It has been super mixed for me as well, I am going to paleo instead. sub 25 grams of carbs per day is not healthy at all. Sub 50/75 is far more sustainable.
Do you track your calories and macros closely?

Several studies have shown that low-carb vs low-fat makes no difference for weight loss as long as calories are the same and you’re in a caloric deficit.

Paleo is okay because it pushes people to eat more Whole Foods rather than processed stuff. Processed food are allowed to be up to 25% off of what they claim for calories, iirc. So you may think you’re eating 2000 calories a day, but if it’s all pre-packaged, processed foods, you could easily be eating 2500 and blowing through what you thought was a caloric deficit.
Yea that’s sort of the reasoning. I’m sort of low fat as is. So this was a big change in eating habits. But it wrecks havoc with the body. I don’t think I’d recommend it.

Wasn’t Whole Foods caught in a calorie/packaging gate ?

Sorry, I didn’t mean the brand. My phone autocorrected. I meant actual whole foods.. raw meat for protein and fats, fresh (or frozen) veggies, then fruit, rice, and potatoes for your carbs.

Man.

HR just sent a company-wide email saying my bossbro (prez of the company) will be out until further notice on medical leave, and to respect his privacy and not inquire about it. Then offering tots and pears for a speedy recovery. No other info.

Gotchya. Yea sort of had to switch to that by default. But it was all going pretty well until the holidays. Where I maintained my diet actually but I didn’t work out for shit I’m 2 weeks. Which really set me back. Now back to the damn grind

Small food scales are cheap and don’t take up much counter space. While you’re still getting into the calorie counting, it can be helpful for actually realizing what a protein size looks like. Especially with calorie dense foods like oils, nuts, but butters, etc.

I’m always here as a resource as well for whatever help you might want.
