I went to buy my mother a car, but she said fuck it, so I got another Rolex. DFD. Always winning.

I went over to pick up my Rolex from the dealer, I had sent it back to Rolex to get the clasp replaced.... While there, I spent $1k more than the Corolla and got a second watch.

If I told her what happened I'm sure she would change her mind about thinking it was too much for me to get her that car.Irish wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 6:37 pmCorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 3:30 pm Was going to buy my mom a new Corolla today but she declined. The guy I got my Meowta from has a ton of project cars. Way too many. He was trying to sell an FD RX7 with no clear coat'd red paint but with an engine and shit in ok shape for $15K. When he couldn't sell it he ended up trading it to a guy for a Rolex. He then sold the Rolex for about $13K.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 6:41 pmIf I told her what happened I'm sure she would change her mind about thinking it was too much for me to get her that car.

This one is worth about $3k less on the used market than I paid for it new. NBD, this was purely a relationship building purchase so I can actually buy a couple more that are worth 1.5 and 2x the MSRP.Acid666 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 10:41 amThe guy I got my Meowta from has a ton of project cars. edit: Actually as a 1966 it doesn't need SMOG testing.. just needs DOT equipment.

Just pay someone to set it up and haul it to tracks for you. All you need to do is arrive and drive.CorvetteWaxer wrote:Won't pass SMOG testing.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 11:47 am Yo

Meh, not really into that. I'd want to drive it in the mountains and fun roads around home.troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 1:34 pmJust pay someone to set it up and haul it to tracks for you. All you need to do is arrive and drive.CorvetteWaxer wrote:

I'd love a Caterham 160 for out there. Low ish power but skinny tires.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 1:40 pmMeh, not really into that. We worked with Caterham before and had a pair of cars. I didn't drive them but I should have. I chose to drive the Aventador instead.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 10:21 pmI'd love a Caterham 160 for out there. Low ish power but skinny tires.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 1:40 pm

Sonos stuff is on a pretty good sale all over. Costco had the play for for $560 and a pair of the play1 for $220. I got mine about 3 months ago and have mixed feelings. The sub is also on a good sale on amazon.
I sprung for the amp to hook my record player up.

What kind of loot did everyone pull in for Friday this year?
I saw JBL, Sony, Sennheiser, etc had some crazy deals on noise-canceling headphones. Almost picked up a pair but couldn't mentally justify it over my already great earbuds so I just bought replacement earbud foam thingies.

I bought charcoal, a propane/map gas fire starter and a specific fan to make the fire hot faster. Oh... I guess I did buy the Cobb AP for the 911 too... so nevermind the not much comment, that shit wasn't cheap like the BBQ stuff.

Nothing here. Browsing amazon for deals today, but not expecting to spend any money. The company I buy protein from is having a 20% off sale, so maybe stock up on 20lbs of whey if I buy anything at all.
