No burn, just a fact. Bank's don't "guarantee" jack shit and Waxer would be more politically aligned with the the average resident of Twodot Montana, not San Francisco.dubshow wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 3:27 pmDesertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 2:46 pm

I'd be pissed if I were the seller TBH. Sorry man, this is a hell of a shitshow.

That it is. I'm frankly surprised she's only asking for the $500 allowance back. I was prepared for more than that, and we've already returned an amendment forfeiting that $500. Just waiting on the bank now.

Haha yeah that wallpaper is probably my least favorite thing in the whole place. Making boring rooms interesting via decorating seems like it could help us here in the rental situation since we can't paint or change hard stuff. Of course the place is going to be small no matter what we do...

It works in the sea of white and black and would definitely brighten up anyone's winter day. That is a very nicely renovated home to begin with and the designer knew what she was doing. Looks good!troyguitar wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2019 7:45 pm I want to do this:

We are all done with our renos and fully moved into our new place! Its looking pretty good now that all of the flooring, baseboard trim and wall paint is refreshed.
Work is catching up to me and I need to focus on making teh money's. Bill's are racked up, it's frustrating because I'm not sure if I should squeeze out my loose cash to pay the bills all off or throw stuff on the line of credit. I haven't been this tight for cash in years. I'm optimistic that I can level out. I guess I should just pay everything off and dip into the LOC if I need it for emergencies, less interest accrued.
This last move was the right move for us, everyone sleeps better, it is amazing how much being under a flight path impacted my sleep personally. Even the kids don't wake up as much at night.
We barely touch the hot tub, I think that think is a waste of money personally, and now I'm scared to use it because I haven't had time to check on chemical balances or whatever people do with them. Apparently the previous owner replaced the water and did all the chemical work required right before he moved out.
Winter weather came on fast and strong this year, wow! We went from Jean jackets to three inches of snow and deep freezing temps in a flash. Rediculous!

Also gas range >>>>>> induction stove >>>> glass top electric stove. What a difference in cooking power and food quality! Ours is a kitchenaid five burner and really good but I'm sure they are all awesome. A welcome little surprise in the new

Meanwhile, the that we originally tried to buy for $290k in February but the sellers wouldn't take it is STILL for sale. They have moved out, repainted the interior, taken new photos, added a $4700 allowance for kitchen updates, and lowered the asking price to $270k so far...

Nobody has money here.SAWCE wrote:How much did you offer in Feb?troyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 11:39 am Meanwhile, the that we originally tried to buy for $290k in February but the sellers wouldn't take it is STILL for sale. Even at "only" $270k we'd be at $1000/mo in property taxes alone. Fuck that.

Wowza. Folks in Indiana still somehow complain, but with a statewide cap at 1% of assessed value I think we have it pretty good. $270k house, you pay $2,700/yr in property taxes or less. There are some minor exceptions like if a city approves a school referendum or something, but otherwise your tax bill stays pretty close to that.troyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 2:59 pmNah. 4.5% here and the assessments are for full market value.

Ooof, yeah I forgot about you talking about how high the property taxes out there are. Eff that. Enjoy the low maintenance renting life and keep socking cash away from when you can get out of NY.troyguitar wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 2:59 pmNah. I'm not moving again until it's to of NY.SAWCE wrote:
