I just put my brother in law in a corolla xse hatch for $244/mo with 2500 down, 36 month lease. The car has everything. Street sign recognition, smart nav, leather, laser cruise... more tech than a $120k Panamera. Insane.

15k, and it includes GAP which isn’t included in TFS leases by default and retails at 950, and a +20k maintenance plan that covers everything to 45k miles.max225 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 7:55 pm313 a month for a corolla tho... how many miles a year?fledonfoot wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 7:22 pm I just put my brother in law in a corolla xse hatch for $244/mo with 2500 down, 36 month lease. 100% The wife's Sonata changed my mind for sure and made me a believer in H. The thing is well built, quiet, doors close with a nice thunk, there are tons of features, comfy heated and cooled seats, dual zone CC, 2 memory drivers seat adjustments, LED headlights, AA and ACP, drivers seat automatically slides back when you shut the car off to make it easy to get out of, etc, etc, etc. All that and more for $24k OTD. (MSRP was $29k).Johnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 5:42 pmI mean I think H/K really nail the cheap car segment. They have the best infotainment out there, excellent connectivity, great fuel mileage, decent performance, and tons of features for the dollar. That stupid Elantra changed my opinion of the brand. Hardly anything about that little car actually sucked. The things that did suck are remedied by higher trims (headlights, mostly).

long thread is long but I'll play. Cars for the poors in El A are like 50 feet long, have an automatic glass door, fat woman driver in uniform and are called busses.

We also had small snow coming into the forecast last night, but I remember when that usually happens, I usually end up with a 2 tone paint job. This time it didn't

the only Hyundai's that still live up to the reputation of shitty cars are Accent's. But after having a rental in Turkey a 2015 i20, being in multiple Ubers/lyft like Ioniq, Elantra, and the new Santa Fe, they came a long way, in fact slightly better than Honda's and Toyota's imo.wap wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 10:42 pm100% The wife's Sonata changed my mind for sure and made me a believer in H. So my dad is looking at winter beaters, and found some 2007 Jeep Liberty for sale that he for some reason thinks is basically the only good option. It's a base model with 150k miles and the dude is asking $4k. Meanwhile my friend is selling a 2007 Legacy Limited with 120k miles on it and said for my dad it would be $3k. My dad is worried the Legacy is too "old lady" and isn't sure if he wants to be getting in and out of a car? I should just let him buy the fucking Heep shouldn't I?

I don't see what's wrong with the Legacy. My mom had an '07 and my dad always had good things to say about it. It's had all services done. There's not many good choices in the $3-4k rangemax225 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 7:11 pmBoth are horrific choicesCaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 7:06 pm So my dad is looking at winter beaters, and found some 2007 Jeep Liberty for sale that he for some reason thinks is basically the only good option. Does it have the head gaskets replaced ? Subaru’s that old aren’t the pinnacle of reliability.
Also what’s the reasoning behind a 3/4K “beater” ? Is your dad capable of working on cars

Yes HG and Timing belt were done at 105k. My dad doesn't want to drive his 300 in the salt so he's looking for a car to drive in case he doesn't move to FL for work. He's 100% Capable of working on cars and has done so his entire life, but doesn't want to work on a car he might only own for a couple of months.

If the Subaru has that done I’d def go that routeCaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 7:41 pmYes HG and Timing belt were done at 105k. I agree he just has something against it for some reason. Are there any "hidden gem" cars I'm maybe not thinking of? Heated seats and satellite radio capability would be a plus.max225 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 7:52 pmIf the Subaru has that done I’d def go that routeCaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 7:41 pm
