He's gotta be out of excuses now. He got married and has a job, and several bikes have been bought elsewhere - fuckin' Apex bought two![user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2019 5:37 pmYou have no play in this game, eternal bike kicker.

100 miles, 8k feet of climbing - about what I did yesterday. Should be in proper form for it.
I wish I could.

Today was a waste. Wifey said she wanted to go for a ride this afternoon after she got done with work. Massive storms came through late this morning and put the kibosh on Six Mile, Allaire and Nox. She didn't seem enthused about trying White Clay and before you know it we end up going to lunch instead because she didn't feel like riding.
I broke the Defy off the trainer this morning and threw the rear wheel back on. Ordered some shifter and brake cables. I was going to head out for a little while, but thought we were hitting the trails before the rain started.
I need to ease back onto the trainer and fire up Zwift again.

Spending money on a bike feels wrong when faced with the wedding bill. But those rebate checks. I gotta do some it’s been an expensive few months.

Took a day off, slept well, ate well, and... went right back to being unable to average even 16 mph. This sport is a pain in the ass.

More wind, same tire pressures. I did 21 mph out and 15 mph back on the "flat" parts vs 18 and 19 the other day with less wind.

Note to self; wait at least 24 hours after a brutal leg workout to go riding. Ate dirt pretty hard trying to clear a log I’ve made it over several times just because I was tired.

So far she’s liking it! We found a babysitter so we can start doing some stuff without the munchkin for a few hours now.

Backing off to 16 mph on the flats brought my HR down to 160 instead of 180 for 18 mph... So apparently I can go 25 mph if I just run my heart at 250 bpm.

Am going to try to bug out of work a little early tomorrow to hit up Southwestway. I was too big of a to go down the first line when I had my Orbea, but it’s time to head back now that I’m getting better. Here’s to hoping I don’t die on the rock garden heading into the jump track.
