That's happened every time I have tried to buy a car, except for the on which I got a fair price way below advertised. Dem negotiating skills.max225 wrote:So the Reno told me to kick sand. "thanks for your time we can't meet your offer, best of luck in your search"

They know what they have. They don't need their profit trimmed by Shylock.

Looks like a trip down south to Irvine might be in order...

I am sort of confused by this dealer response... Not even a $500 off offer.... justDetroit wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 2:24 pmDesertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 2:13 pm

That's normal in my experience. New car, used car, in person, online, with trade or without... No one but the was willing to budge a single dollar for me.

Our resident Canuck has a Remus exhaust and likes it, IIRC.
Color scheme is better anyway.

Irvine is 1 year older, more miles... also has +1 owner, no carfax listed, and quite a distance from me... So... I am yet... if it was a I would but I am not going all the way down there for an auto.D Griff wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 5:03 pm[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 2:43 pm

Dude if you want the manual, just get a manual. Get the blue one shipped to you, I'll go look at it for you.

The one from Charlotte right ? The closest that works for me is in colorado. I am i was sort of set on the auto after the test drive... but the heat your guys gave me for it... made me second guess it... I initially went in thinking it should be a only car.

I mean, I'm a until I die idiot... so I tried not to push my opinion on the trans that much as you should get whatever you want. But when you say something like "I would only travel 500 miles for it if it were manual" it sounds like that's really what you want... and getting what you really want gives it a bit more staying power.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 5:25 pmThe one from Charlotte right ? I may be wrong but I think what he meant by travelling for a manual is because they are rare and don't come for sale often, while there's a higher chance an auto that's close by will come up for sale. With the manual you don't really have a choice to travel or not but the auto is easily found closer.D Griff wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 5:29 pmI mean, I'm a until I die idiot... so I tried not to push my opinion on the trans that much as you should get whatever you want. frankly I don't know how to feel about the you guys are making me feel like its like getting an Auto on the C5 which was a huge no no, as the manual provided better performance+fuel economy.CaleDeRoo wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 5:33 pmI may be wrong but I think what he meant by travelling for a manual is because they are rare and don't come for sale often, while there's a higher chance an auto that's close by will come up for sale. In the mini's case I feel like the auto was just fine, it really kept the engine happy without much effort. I am if the stick will add to the fun, it will make it more unique... a unique car that is even that much more unique...
But as I mentioned post test drive, I only went to drive the auto one because its the only JCW near me, and I wanted to see if that engine/brake/suspension combo would work for me (and it really did).
A nationwide search for JCWs is in the single digits. obviously I am willing to travel some. La, Oregon, Nevada. Which are not insignificant trecks.... but I have to draw the line somewhere. 1000+ miles is IMO especially since i am in mini mecca.

We should all send an offer for way less than Max’s and force them to accept his.
