The reasoning behind my decision:

1. I wanted to get back to a :manuel:
2. The rust on the bed of my truck wasn't going to get any better over time.
3. The miles weren't going to get any lower on the truck.
4. As a result of 2 and 3, I was already over the bell curve for maximizing the dollar amount I would receive for the truck.
5. The truck has been a part of the Takata recall for over two years now, and I was tired of GM postponing airbag replacements because they keep swearing that their Takata airbags are different from everyone else's Takata airbags.
6. With the 6/72 warranty and the two years of maintenance, it is one less vehicle I need to worry about wrenching on for a while.
:fuckyeah: :notbad:

I reallllly like the blue ones tho.

What kind of :dill: did you get?
$30.5K sticker discounted down to $25.9K. They gave me $8K for the truck.
All said and done after taxes, tags, and trade, it was $19.5K financed at 2.75%.

:turboyaris: lyfe is strong around here.

First one I've seen that isn't Pornflower Blue or Uranus Gray.
I was going to originally get an S, but after comparing the halogens to the LEDs, I opted to go for the Rabbit since the S doesn't have an LED headlight option. When the dealer looked, there were only two available: one in white and one in black. I guess most everybody opted for the Rabbit-specific colors.

:like: that’s a solid deal. We don’t get much discounts on these here... 2/3k tops.

I was surprised on the margin of discount. I guess the west coast gets all of the JL discounts and the east coast gets all of the VW discounts.

Indeed. VW had 1.9%, but I would have had to give up $2K in discounts to get the offer. After doing the math, there was only something like a grand difference between the 3.59% the dealer was quoting me versus the VW 1.9%. It didn't make sense. Even less so when I found out my credit union had actually redid their loan rates to 2.75%.

Good :dill: is good. :dillerman: :like:

So, now isn't the time to tell you that the GTI that came in for the stalling issue... VW issued a buyback immediately? :doomed:
If it happens, it happens. That would just mean I get all muh moniez back.

:nice:

I had a candy white four door MK6... The MK7 looks great in white over the black wheels.

So far, I really like it. It is much quieter than my truck and much more fuel efficient. Of course, I'm already needing to borrow a truck because the rear axle in the El Camino is on its way out the door and I'm looking to pick a replacement up.

Crunchy. I rode the Aprilia today while I decide whether or not I want to do this job or pay someone else.

My friend had an 06 GTI for years and he loved it. The only thing I hated about prior VWs, and his included, was the clutch always had a garbage feel to it. When I drove a GLI back in May, I was happy to see that they had fixed that issue. I picked the GTI over the GLI because of the hatch.

And that's how it usually goes for me. Originally, I just said that I can use the El Camino if I need to pick up something like a trans or a motor. It is a little more difficult when the El Camino needs that part I'm picking up. Luckily, my dad has a truck.
