Should be! We have hot but dry weather forecasted for the weekend.

I need to look for a door alarm of sorts, something that will push alerts to our phones when a door opens. No need for a doorbell, and I can't be installing things on the exterior anyway. #apartmentlife

I should be able to run wiring up from the basement without much hassle. Good to know it rings the phones...that's the way to go.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 12:05 pmYou don't need a chime if you don't want to install one. Mine rings our phones and tablets and you push one button to see the live feed and can interact with the person at the door. You will need to get power to the doorbell though. Trust me when I say you don't want one of the Ring battery operated ones. We had one on a lab at work and the lab owner told me it sucked so bad he got facilities to hardwire the power so he could use the regular powered unit.Detroit wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 11:57 am
I should pick one of these up. We don't have a doorbell on our house, and it would be really nice to keep track of who's at the door and when.
I was hoping Arlo would release a better doorbell because I really don't feel like downloading yet another home app to use. I'd love everything to be on the same ecosystem, but that's apparently too much to ask.
My perfect doorbell would ring over all our Google assistants with a video alert on the phone. Since I don't have a chime, that's a whole extra thing to figure out.
Oh, there is google home/assistant integration for Skybell, but I haven't used it yet as the phones/tablets work for us.

Even in light of
's terrible experience and a monthly sub, i went with the ring. 90 bucks on refurb right now for a ring 2, 3 bucks a month for service.
I figure its temporary until the ones that can use local storage or offer free 30 cloud or something come down.
We are genuinely concerned about one of the neighborhood HOA fucks vandalizing the house. Apparently its happened before. They will not like the letters from my legal council.

If you want added security, I saw some sales on Arlo cameras on Amazon. I have my complaints with them overall, but they're pretty solid and super simple to setup.

Having been burned on choosing vehicles for her, she's making this decision 100% on her own.

If that's what she wants, then fine. It'll at least be cheap AF.

It's "cute" and thus a wildcard. Depending on how long her attention span lasts, we might get in one of those too.
TBH, I'll be shocked if we drive more than 2 vehicles tomorrow. She'll get over it quickly and just ask me to make the decision for her...which will end in

Tomorrow is going to suck.

Running low of fucks left to give today... New boss scheduled a conference call for 4pm today too.
She's clearly not here and most likely sitting at one of her beach houses...
