When are you headed to Cali?

Red eye is the best way to do it. That flight sucks either way might as well try and force yourself to sleep.[user not found] wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 4:15 pmJuly 12-14.
Getting a red-eye back on the 14th into the 15th.
Oh ahhh yeahhh maybe only plan on a half day. That’s gonna be rough.[user not found] wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 5:31 pmYeah, that's the goal. Land in Philly at 7AM, gotta be at work by 9.
I don't see how you can go wrong.[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 10:35 am Narrowed down my tire choices. Wildpeak is out due to the LT tire losing the special silica compound that's better on wet pavement and winter conditions.
285/70R17 BFG AT KO2:
285/70R17 Cooper AT3 XLT:
They're within $50 of each other for a set of 5, similar weights - I have reason to believe the Coopers will be the better road tire and just as good off-road.
Thoughts?

Doesn’t it just make sense to buy a set of take off wheels+ tires and sell yours as is? Should cost about 1/2 of what a new set of tires would run you.[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 10:35 am Narrowed down my tire choices. For your use, something with a more road friendly tread and aggressive sidewall look would be perfect IMO.[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 11:56 amMy research has proven the AT3 to actually be the slightly better tire than the KO2 - better in snow, better on the road, and equal in the dirt. My biggest complaint about them previously is that they just didn't look aggressive enough, but the new XLT changes that.

I enjoyed the K02s on my F150, but those were probably an older compound?[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 10:35 am Narrowed down my tire choices. Wildpeak is out due to the LT tire losing the special silica compound that's better on wet pavement and winter conditions.

For your use I don’t see how you go wrong with the Coopers. Like you said I believe they will be the better road tire and should handle any off-roading you would want to do.
If not, I’ll pull you out.
The Coopers look pretty good I think.
Have you looked at Toyo Open Country ATIIs?[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 10:35 am Narrowed down my tire choices. Wildpeak is out due to the LT tire losing the special silica compound that's better on wet pavement and winter conditions.

[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 4:01 pmAlmost $260/tire. for no good reason.
Just placed the order.
Since I work at the diller, I was able to knock another $10/tire off. Got them for $214/tire plus the $70 rebate. So, $200/tire in the end.

They are throwing 8k on the 2019s now and they are still raising prices by $750-1500 at least leds[user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 4:04 pm 2020 lineup changes announced: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/ ... ety.33062/

Are standard on Sahara’s and rubis like on the jks.
You can see those results in the tread design, the road contacting patch looks like it is more of a road tire, but the sidewalls have a mud grabbing texture to it. They look neat too![user not found] wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 11:56 amMy research has proven the AT3 to actually be the slightly better tire than the KO2 - better in snow, better on the road, and equal in the dirt. I ordered 5, they’ll arrive at the dillerzone on Tuesday. Hopefully I can bribe someone to throw them on.

Oh wow, the pad looks larger after to before. Optical illusion.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 9:16 amSi, kinda. Not necessarily larger pads. I'd imagine someone makes a larger pad, but I just got new OE-sized pads.
Regardless, I'm impressed with the result. Better pedal feel and bite, and much better stopping power.

Unfortunately that would be the limiting factor. Gladiator costs too much right now, and I don't think the 3.6 would enjoy towing too much.
