You will probably get something Monday-Wednesday next week if that’s the case

That’s a pretty impressive career update

Interview #4 complete with startup company.
So the bad part of this potential job? They want to work this construction project 6 days a week 10 hour days. From September to July.

Don't know the pay yet. Either money compensation or equity in the company would be necessary.
150% of the time. I doubt it's going to be 150% of the pay of my last job? If it is then
I feel like if they want you to do 60 hours/week out of the gate for seven months it's likely an all the time thing. I'd think long and hard before taking on something like that.

I've been casually applying for some things. exactly what direction I want to go in.I'd really prefer not to be in an office all of the time, i loved working on the road with all of the freedom of the Bang Bus. I'm torn between pursuing something along the lines of that job (Pre Sales Engineering) versus straight outside sales, which would likely pay a lot more but is higher stress for sure.
It's tough, this job has been paying me really well and the PTO policy is great, plus the company is growing rapidly... but I just don't enjoy the work. Could certainly be worse but I think I'd rather make a little less doing something that I like more day to day.

Got an email from the ED manager Thursday night, I did not get the position
Still waiting to hear from the psych hospital, which would still be within my company and I would retain my seniority/benefits. Also putting out some other applications today. I'm very disappointed though.

I thought that there's supposed to be a massive shortage of medical professionals.haleyann wrote:Got an email from the ED manager Thursday night, I did not get the position

There's a shortage of experienced nurses.... getting a job as a new grad at a hospital is difficult. I could get a job at a nursing home pretty easily I think, they typically have pretty high turnover.troyguitar wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 1:38 pmI thought that there's supposed to be a massive shortage of medical professionals.haleyann wrote:Got an email from the ED manager Thursday night, I did not get the position

Ahhh, the great catch 22 of the world. You need experience to get experience. It makes mehaleyann wrote:There's a shortage of experienced nurses.... getting a job as a new grad at a hospital is difficult. but most hospitals have nurse residency programs now, which are positions only open to new grads and includes a shit ton of training and extra classes. But it's still incredibly competitive. The one I applied to had over 600 applicants, 360 interviewed in the first round (which was basically speed dating interviews), and maybe 30 get positions. Soooooooo...... thought I had a pretty good shot since I've already worked for the company for 5 years, guess someone else was better.troyguitar wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 1:57 pmAhhh, the great catch 22 of the world.
