Got another call this morning that he’ll be ready to pick up at 11. Implant didn’t move at all overnight, so he should be okay. Heart is enlarged so we have some questions about that, but hopefully he’ll be good to go after this and live out the rest of his life relatively normally.
Oh yeah, wow. What ended up being the issue?
3rd degree blockage in his atrioventricular valve. Pacemaker installed yesterday.
Good boy is now Bionic boy.

Wow. Sounds expensive
Ungodly so. Michelle paid for it since it’s her dog. I wouldn’t have spent that on mine, but it’s important to her so I offered to help pay which she declined. Still sucks as that’s money out of her savings and we’ve been talking about saving to be able to buy a place whenever we move out of Cali. Oh well. Shit happens and it’s worth it to her so I can’t argue.

This is the hardest thing to decide. the animals, but man...if costly issues come up it's a difficult call.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

She’s in for $8k unless she got some of the deposit back that she had to give when she dropped him off yesterday I definitely would not have paid that, but like I said, not my business what she does with her money and I spend mine on stuff that’s probably far less important than the life of a dog you love.

Is the a puppy or at least relatively young? That's some

4 years old. Shepherd mix, so figure if there aren’t any complications from this he could last another 8 years or so.

Ohhh, still relatively young. In the grand scheme, probably not the worst call.

I think my singular cost would top at $1000. After that I could just go to a breeder and get a schnoodle.
Being allergic raises my price since its hard to find a cute hypoallergenic dog at the pound.
We're also at $1k...but our dog is 7 or 8, and a bulldog mix so likely close to reaching her end.
I wouldn't bother getting a dog if I were allergic.

1-2 months of play/exercise from the surgery though. Wild. Have to make sure he’s all good to go and that it’s not going to get unplugged while playing or anything

Yeah. She’s happy she did it, and that’s all that matters.
Yep, indeed.

Any long-term limitations? that they do this kind of thing for s.

I love my dog and want the company.
Shes also only 6. So she has 6-10 years left before the end.

Not that I know of, but I’ll get the full debrief when I get home and Michelle fills me in.
