Just slight poke breh otherwise it is Stretch city :disgust: . 225's are perfect for 7" wheel.
Your chart says you need 8.5 inch ramz for 255s.

Priced out a set of wheels and tires for the hype R, $1204.50 delivered. Yokohomo Advans + C4 wheels. That's cheaper than 1 set of tires on the m3... damn.

It’s more about how much weight you’re throwing at a narrow tire through the turns, acceleration is fine

An R is 3300 lbs. 225's are fine for a small hatchback. Bump it up to 235's if you want but I'd imagine without a t00n to give you big horsepower a 255 would be too much.

Ideally I think a 245 square setup would be perfect. But you can’t get that size on golf that makes sense. 255s would be nice too, but there is a small wheel limitation. And :notsure: if rub. I mean 225s are narrow tires for anything over 3000lbs that is performance oriented. It’s compromising the car but I don’t care that much , it is what it is

235s in a summer tread are pretty sufficient IMO. Those idiot engineers actually got something right.

Interesting things happening here. I'm excited to hear about the Hype R and RS tests. Personally, I think an R is a pretty perfect one car daily, but a little bit boring for my tastes. I'd much rather have something more raucous like the Fuckus or Shitvic.

It's really not that hard to determine ideal tread width to wheel width, assuming no class rules limiting anything. Convert your inches to millimeters and understand that a small stretch beats a pinch.

225mm = 8.86"

A :225: fits best on an 8.5 - 9.0" wide wheel, with the 9 being preferable.

So why don’t the oems do it then ? There is not one oem with a 225 on a 9” wheel

Going by that, I need 205s for the front and 225s for the rear on my Kamry :triggered:

245 is what the STI has. It's good. Could mayyyybe use a bit more front tire, but eh.
