I just remembered that my HU on the tdi was replaced ... it was one of the two repairs the car has had in 75k miles
I'm not seeing much of anything about messed up HU's though. Always something with this car.

I'll probably get the "we've never seen this before" spiel again.

I probably should.
Taking the car in next week as that's the earliest available appointment. SA said it sounds like I'm going to need to have the entire module in the glove box replaced. He said they had to do it a few times on 2015's but not really on 2016+ since VW changed manufacturers of the module.

It's a good pointer about 2015s though... I'll certainly continue to avoid them.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 11:39 amI probably should.[user not found] wrote:

I also bought an extended B2B warranty on this when I bought the car so it has a 6 year B2B.max225 wrote:Well you have a warranty. I wouldn't let this :trigger: you, the HU is really not a big deal.
We'll see. I don't even know what I'd the car for anyway.

You're at the ~25-30k price point (trade in Value), with a car that performs on par with new vehicles that cost 40-60k. I wouldn't it... it will cost you a huge amount of money and yield limited results. These things have issues once in a while.Gberg2119 wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 5:01 pmI also bought an extended B2B warranty on this when I bought the car so it has a 6 year B2B.max225 wrote:

Once in a while is fine though. I'm at the dillership for issues what feels like every few months.
It appears I got another trash pile of a car from VW.

Despite what was probably not the most responsible ownership from the first owner of my car, my MK7 has been solid so far.

did Subaru bring Blurple back on that first car or is that just lighting. Love the color with the neon waxable calipers.

Oh wow the floor really fell out of WRX / STI prices.
Come grab mine for a day or two to see if you like the rawness or not. I hear the 18s got thicker glass and a more comfy ride tho.

True on both counts. It's pretty easy to get $3k off MSRP these days, looking around at listed prices. Probably more if you're persistent.
The 18+ cars are definitely more comfortable, both in terms of ride (despite being on 19s?) and noise levels. I'd just get a new '19 base for the updated head unit in the $35.xk range for anyone seriously shopping an STi. Unless you really care about keyless access, which is wrapped up in a package with Recaros for $2,500, the base car is the best value by far.

The color on my truck is epic in the sun too, but it's cloudy here almost all the time, so it just looks like dark blue almost all of the time.

The GoRf really is the best jack of all trades. I'd love to have one that works reliably.
