I told you not to buy the JKU.

Seriously, you still have some warranty, right? get it in there for a fix before it expires and ride them to make it right, even if it takes all year after the warranty expires.
I'm into the powertrain part of the warranty now. 37k miles on it.

Let's roll the clock back to last June and instead I choose to keep my Frontier.
Well then, might I suggest some of this:

and a shirt to go with it:

So you'd be getting ready to take delivery of an orange :meata: and have sold the :truk: for another :povertytruck: to drive while you lock the orange beast in the garage?

Probably either GSW or Alltrack S, :manuel:

Getting deeper into bicicletas again which leaves very little time, energy, or desire for car shit.
:nice: I'm glad you will make the wise choice to not be :wasteful: with :truk: lyfe and put the bike on a roof rack or whatever.

I understand you there man, I like the motorcycle life again and i got little to no time or energy for my DD. Its nice and all and I will maintain it....but that's about it. There is only so much time in a day / week.

:plac: ON 1.
This is why my one coworker got rid of his JKU.

Man that's annoying as hell. Didn't they just replace nearly all the seals on the roof?

Alternatively you could get a soft top for it.

If I had more time, I'd love to do all the things. But I don't have the time, and I also don't have the money.

#1) Tracking the :meata: requires an investment in seats, harnesses, and a roll bar. I'm too tall, and the only legal bar is the BBFW roll bar, which is a cool $1300. Plus seats. Plus harnesses. Money I'd never get back. Shame the FRZ doesn't come with a better engine.
#2) I'd love to more :jeep: and offroad things, but let's face it - NJ is not the best state for this, so that leaves driving to PA to have fun. All of the 4wd events in PA are always on Saturdays, too.
#3) Driving the :jeep: long distance blows because of the horrible fuel economy. 14-15 MPG into a stiff headwind at 70 MPH. Ouch.
#4) A GSW/Alltrack type vehicle would simplify things, still maybe allow me to have a little fun because :manuel:, give me the AWD I need for winter/mountain cabin access, and also just cut expenses. Due to the fact I work for a VW/Mazda store, I can get into a new GSW/Alltrack for less than a used one. Add a hitch and be done.
#5) Cars in general take time away from me being able to ride, which if I don't ride, I get fat. No bueno.

I'm at a point in my life where I just want to simplify things. I've had some awesome cars and had my fun, but my interests are shifting and I can have 100% of the adrenaline rush on a bike without any of the significant financial ramifications associated with driving spiritedly to get the same fix.
I get it, 100% I do.

Moral of the story: Don't buy cars with holes in the roof.
Without context I was thinking water crossing got in and you can drain it or something. But yeah, that’s fucked.

Bingo - hence why I'm only considering the Alltrack S.

It's very well equipped in stock form, honestly - just missing decent headlights and audio.
And it still comes with the 1.8L, not the :jalepenis: 1.4.

I've been eyefucking the Alltrack since it came out, really.

There are things I legit love about the Jeep after almost 6 months of ownership. And things I hate.

If I can keep the roof from leaking again for a while I can stick it out. If it keeps leaking like it did... fuck it. Bandaid off mode.
Outside of the "leak" what other issues ? Coolant still holding? lifetime MPG compared to the :truk: ? any DD issues?

Everything is lined up properly and snugged up. I pulled the panels on Sunday and double checked, just need a heavy rain to test it out again.
Weird, I figured you would have everything lined up properly after taking the panels off. We'll get another shower soon enough to test it out.

Coolant has been holding steady since I last topped it off in January. :iono:

Empeegee average over the last 6 months has been 14.6 MPG. :doomed:

Colorado was 17.3 over 6 months, Frontier was 17.6 over 26 months.

No other significant issues to report, though. Rattling brake pedal that seems to be endemic to JKs, and that's about it. Almost due for the first oil change.
Wow... Man that's pretty damn shitty :( I think i averaged around 17-18, on a really similar combo, but it was much more highway driving.

Short trips. Funny how the Frontier with the ancient engine returned the best fuel mileage. They're known to be gas guzzlers. I wonder if the Colorado would have gotten better over time as the engine broke in.

I'm at 17.7mpg with over 12,300 miles tracked on fuelly. I don't get a lot of highway miles in doe.
