Ahead? Paying house off early, healthy retirement savings, etc?

At our income, most people would be doing multiple european vacations a year, I'd be in a brand new Hellcat AND a Gladiator, house would be done up fancy, etc. We're pretty happy with how things were a while ago, and while we've stepped up the house game in accordance with income a bit, we're in a place we love, so we just want to focus on future stability. My 3 weeks off from work made me realize that I don't want to work my entire life, so we're taking steps toward a somewhat early retirement. Discipline now will pay dividends in the future.
IMO.... do some of that shit now while you're young and your legs and knees work. You might die before retirement age anyway. I don't want to tour europe when I'm 70 and need a cane and can't walk more than 1 mile.
Oh, for sure. It's all about balance. We're not going to go hog wild, but we're not going to be 100% :scrooge: either.

We went to Germany last year...likely England this year...maybe Spain next year. We're also going to travel the region more with the glamper.

I'm gonna work forever...
You're young and you have a kid. I'm :jelly: of that situation because I was too fucking stupid to realize what I wanted earlier in life. So now I'll be 55 when my kid graduates high school. Old as shit when/if they have grandkids. I should have had a kid at 26-28 years old.
I'll never be flush with :waxer: like a bunch of y'all on here, but I'm happy with my little life. I've always wanted a kid, and I'll be 50 when she graduates high school.

Still no idea of what I want to be when I grow up.

Starts at FCA on April 1st.
Invites coworkers to DFD on April 3rd.
Fired for inappropriate behavior on April 4th.

That would almost beat the guy I worked with back when the John Wayne Bobbitt story happened. A new hire on his first full day of work, or second day of employment thought it would be good to break the ice by sending a dick joke to the email alias "everyone". He claimed he thought "everyone" was just his team, not the entire company, including the board of directors.

He was fired by the end of the day and apologies were sent and a company meeting was had. :lolol:
:ohdang:

:lolol: that's an :impressive: stint at a company...
My employees that are with me today that were with me waaay back then still bring this up every so often and we have a laugh.

We got a late start too. Married at 30, first child at 31. 2nd at 33. 3rd at 36. All surprises/blessings as my wife was supposedly not going to be able to bear children. Part of me wishes that we got an earlier start, but :aintcare: I wasn't ready to be married any younger and I'm 18 months from having raised all three children to adulthood......

I forgot how awesome concerts are when you're in a venue specifically designed for acoustics. Mind blowing. Last few I went to were in smaller venues in Philly, or in things like basketball arenas which are horribad. Chest pounding bass. Super crisp and clear highs. Zero sound reflection. Perfect 11/10 venue.

The concert itself was more of a listening event than it was a jam out crazy involved concert. Seated most of the time, slower pace than I'm used to. Justin Vernon's vocal range is incredible, and I liked how he changed up the songs for the concert. 2 drummers, 3 guitars, lots of electronic real time audio distortions that actually became sort of a musical instrument in itself. A few solo songs. A little bummed there wasn't really any brass, his songs really come together when the brassy notes mix with the electronic bass. Dunno why he wasn't touring with another musician like that.

Overall I don't know that I'd run back to another concert of his but I really did enjoy this one.
Wow. :fancy:

Because I was promised something awesome, and convinced myself it was best to see what it was all about. Then the shakeup at work. And now I'm just fucking exhausted and confused.

What I do need to do is take 3-4 weeks vacation.

one month ago you were fully ready to :nope: out of your acting enginering manager jerb.

you got good news in form of options

I fail to see how saying "I'm going on a one month vacation as discussed" and there answer being "no" changes your position as of one month ago OTHER THAN:
You now have a LEGIT reason in future interviews as to why you left.

interviewer: "why you leave?"

jp: " They restructured and i was not happy with my new position; i expressed my concern about this and management and I were at an impasse on a path forward for my career."
