At our income, most people would be doing multiple european vacations a year, I'd be in a brand new Hellcat AND a Gladiator, house would be done up fancy, etc. We're pretty happy with how things were a while ago, and while we've stepped up the house game in accordance with income a bit, we're in a place we love, so we just want to focus on future stability. My 3 weeks off from work made me realize that I don't want to work my entire life, so we're taking steps toward a somewhat early retirement. Discipline now will pay dividends in the future.
Plus, living below your means will make any unplanned financial hit, like one of you suddenly losing your jobs, a lot easier to deal with.
Good on you two for recognizing the possibility of, and taking steps toward, early retirement thanks to your newfound status.

Starts at FCA on April 1st.
Invites coworkers to DFD on April 3rd.
Fired for inappropriate behavior on April 4th.
That would almost beat the guy I worked with back when the John Wayne Bobbitt story happened. A new hire on his first full day of work, or second day of employment thought it would be good to break the ice by sending a dick joke to the email alias "everyone". He claimed he thought "everyone" was just his team, not the entire company, including the board of directors.
He was fired by the end of the day and apologies were sent and a company meeting was had.

Dark clouds this morning when I was out with the dogs. Checked the weather.. 0% chance of rain. Definitely got misted on driving in Luckily I brought some towels just in case, so I have them on my seats and one over my dash.. not coming down any more luckily. But that was shitty.

Definitley could have been worse. I've got the rubber floor mats in, but I'll pull the carpets tonight or tomorrow night to bring them in and dry them completely.Apex wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 11:23 amthings brah.SAWCE wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 11:21 am Dark clouds this morning when I was out with the dogs. IMO.... do some of that shit now while you're young and your legs and knees work. You might die before retirement age anyway. I don't want to tour europe when I'm 70 and need a cane and can't walk more than 1 mile.Detroit wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 9:48 amAhead? Paying house off early, healthy retirement savings, etc?

You're young and you have a kid. I'm of that situation because I was too fucking stupid to realize what I wanted earlier in life. So now I'll be 55 when my kid graduates high school. Old as shit when/if they have grandkids. I should have had a kid at 26-28 years old.

In other news. I moved offices today. I'm in some fucking closet office with a barred over window that doesn't open and a water damaged 20 year old orange desk.
I hate myself for saying anything to my boss.
