Well. I'm rather today. Thinking I made a massive fuck up talking to my boss on Friday.
Today we have a major organizational shift in our company.
Plant manager is being sidelined, new manager coming in
One of our senior VPs is retiring
My boss is moving up the chain in a completely different non-engineering role as a VP downtown
With the removal of my boss's position, my position would technically report direct to the refinery manager
Meaning
I would have doubled my direct reports taking on our inspection team, had a new boss, who just might have a different take on how to run this business and try to make it a better place. With doubling the size of my reports, I could easily make the case for higher pay and/or a better title.
Instead I'm on my track which includes basically a demotion. Who knows if any of the promises around exec training will hold true because new boss.
Guess I'd still be working for this company though, and have the same frustrations with what I'm doing with my life. But with new leadership comes new ways of thinking. The reason my engineers don't get OT is because of our current plant manager. A big part of the reason my job sucks is my boss.
Here's the lesson everyone: Just shut the fuck up and take it.

Except maybe you should just take it as a sign to not stir the pot as you are wont to do?
There is nothing grammatically with Zil's post mang.

I can ask him today. I'm going back to see if he'll do anything on a Microtech Jagdkommando Titanium since I've already spent some cash. Hopefully he'll do something on that knife since the MSRP everyone sells them for is $1144.xx and I know there's good margin on them, but with a retail store I know he needs to make money and he has a lot of cool inventory.SAWCE wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 10:58 amDang.. will he give you that discount on griptilians? I'd grab one for me and a mini for Michelle at 15% under cost.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 10:43 am
Hah..
They are all still boxed up and put into a bigger box in my office closet. Going to hold them.
The guys at the knife store last night had a bunch of Benchmade and the autos were pretty cheap... Said since that shit storm the haven't sold any Benchmade knives at all and said if I wanted an Infidel they would let me have it at "15% under cost".
Bought 2 Microtech OTFs, one of them an ultratech with custom dragonscale work on it and a Troodon with blue handle.
Also got a Protech Godfather Custom with titanium scales.
All in, about $1600. with tax.

Yeah if you don't mind asking him, I can venmo you whatever he wants for them plus some for your hassle and to cover shipping down to me. I like the G-10, but don't necessarily need it if he doesn't have it.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 11:22 amI can ask him today. Bossbro going to downtown HQ gives better access to the execs downtown too. It's going to be easier to get setup for meet and greets/shadowing/etc. there, IMO.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 11:37 amI actually think you got it backwards. That's the positive flip side to this.Apex wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 11:42 amBossbro going to downtown HQ gives better access to the execs downtown too. It's going to be easier to get setup for meet and greets/shadowing/etc. there, IMO.[user not found] wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 11:37 am

Down side to the positive flip side is I'd be working for him again

We all do dude. Big time.
You could kill yourself with shoulda coulda wouldas, at least you voiced your concern and are on a different path now. Like Bendy said, reorgs are usually just rearranging chairs on the Titanic. You actually think they'd give you more money? Fuck no...they'd view it as an opportunity to get a bargain on a good leader. You getting out of that place is a great first step toward...something. New environment, new people, who knows...you might really like the change of scenery.
Maybe bossbros promises are but there's only one way to find out.
