I smelled coolant all the damn time on mine. I stopped worrying about it after fretting everytime I drove it.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 11:51 amCoolant level hasn't budged one bit - top hasn't leaked either.
I still smell coolant periodically, but the JK doesn't have a sealed coolant reservoir so it's the nature of the beast I guess.
Also most cars haven't been smoked in these days, that's a trend that's steadily dropping thankfully.

So, my brother became a long haul driver a few months back, he has an '07 V8 4Runner... I think he'd like to sell since he doesn't really need a car anymore, I can ask him about it if you're interested. It looked very clean from what I saw.

I'd be interested to hear more about it. Condition, mileage, maintenance, price, etc.
The V8's require timing jobs around 100k I think. The problem with the Lexus and the V8 4R is nobody does the timing job. So you're left paying that on top of the purchase price and other expected deferred maintenance like shocks. On the Lexus it's because L tax.
The V6 is a chain driven engine with basically nothing that goes wrong. Better fuel mileage too.

I'll at least ask him... no idea if he has any maintenance records.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 1:04 pmI'd be interested to hear more about it. Condition, mileage, maintenance, price, etc.

This looks nice. I think the 4R is a better pick for the AWD option, but this is a lot of truck for the price.

I like those Xterras. We can easily add a hitch if you want as well.

More than that, it's the subie dealer that I routinely go to for oil changes and such...Apex wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 10:29 amIt's even at a Suby for easy STi trade.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 10:25 am https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sal ... =spotlight

If they could do $15k for this, $26k for my car, it would be a good deal.

Seems like an XTerra would be a fantastic choice. You should go check it out and see what you can strike up.

Yea, but it doesn't hurt to ask? They might want your car on the lot more than the SUV.

At least check it out. You might hate it, so it's another thing to scratch off the list.
