Probably not in a nursing home. You would want a car that sent NO MESSAGE, not one of affluence, not one of poverty. Something like Troy is currently driving.
He is looking at Golf R which is probably the ticket... fun, great car but very understated and unassuming to those not "in-the-know" about such things.
Concur. To all but the flat brimmed elite, it is just a hatchback.

:dat: Exactamundo ...... plus I would put my Visiting Angels magnets on a nice blue GoRf :zfg: I would feel like a :derp: doing that on the 135

There is definitely a bimmer in my future :doe: , I just love their styling...... but it will likely be after I have a small fleet of appliance, wrapped Angel mobiles that I can use for bidness.....

I have to say, the Veloster R Spec was a really solid little car, I would support anyone getting it, in some ways I wish I would have, but the feet not fitting in the pedal box right was kind of a :dill: breaker.

I've rented a 1 series in Hamburg to Berlin back in '16, it makes my GTI feel like a midsize sedan in comparison, pretty cramped. Drives just as good as I was expecting. I had a carry on luggage in the backseat too.

Ever driven one? They're fantastic. Basically :poorvette: like performance in a better size, while being much more usable day to day with backseats, no scrape, better ride/interior.

I actually find them to be rather attractive and better than the two series, but I'm :wrong: obviously.
I've never driven one, but I did see there is a 135is at a local :dillerman:
I should drive one, for :science: sometime. Maintenance on the N54/55 is something I'm a little :notsure: about. On paper they seem like fantastic machines.
n55 are better in that respect, and I know n54 got recalled for fuel pump since they eat it for breakfast due to its design flaw.

:iono: I just got it like four months ago and I did, 3.5% for four years. I suspect it won't be worth a ton in that time frame :iono: Ultimate Depreciation Machine.

That's a perfect :plac: timeline :doe: :megusta:

It's not like it's a Subaru EJ motor that is literally bankrupting me keeping it running.

Srsly tho I'd avoid the N54 completely. If the N55 is too expensive still, then a 128i would be my pick.
F87 128i is the last of the BMW that carries the NA i6

Top of my head...
30 year old BMW... lets start with that.
Then it is essentially 2 I6s screwed together, 2 ECUs, 2 MAFs etc. So everything is essentially twice as unreliable as an average 325 of the same time frame. Now... A 325 from the time frame is actually quite reliable, compared to most modern things, however, it is unfortunately offset by the fact that it is a 30 year old car well outside design specifications, possibly with bad service histories, which would automatically disqualify any purchase.

So ... Repair costs are mostly OK (if car was maintained, visually it looks to be so)
Repairs (engine related) will happen 2x as often as with a BMW I6.
For an enthusiast... I'd say it is a decent vehicle to drive mildly and enjoy. Since the cost of entry into something that only a 1% was able to afford 30 years ago is now much more palatable and you as a subsequent owner will never lose 100k inflation adjusted in depreciation, however you may face 20-30k in maintenance over the same time frame. (30 years and 120k miles)

This should be priced a few k cheaper I think, but would be a fun car. Color and wheels are 5/7.
