As is known, rental cars are the fastest cars in the world, so post your odd Turo rentals or sweet Hertz upgrades in here!
Useless fun fact; I had 7 completely random Volvo rentals in a row in 6 different countries, including US, UK and Luxembourg.
Almost made that 8 in Canada as I refused to drive the Sienna they assigned me and the guy at the counter suggested an XC90, but got a Stelvio instead.

Closer to 100 I think.
Most of them for mileage points. Half of those I never even picked up the car. Where's the extreme couponing emoji?
---
Just returned this close-to-70mpg Swedish Focus.
Rented this 5.bwrap for a week last summer and I absolutely loved it.
Had a pre-facelift GT in California the year before but that felt underwhelming performance wise.
Paid for Corolla - Got this Wrangler thanks to Hertz' Ultimate Choice.
Here hard parked along Blue Ridge parkway during week 2 of last summer.

number of rentals.... 99/100 rentals are absolute garbage though.... corollas, malipoos etc the 1/100 is great though. The megane cup 265 was epic though.... as was my Willy’s in Florida

Fiat Uno in Poland was in little box.
Fiat Panda in Greece was fun but cheap.
Peugeot 205 in Greece was quite a nice car.
Toyota Auris in Poland was a total shitbox.
'Murican rentals were never interesting. Old Mazda 323, first gen Neon, Pontiac G6, some old shitty Subaru, etc. Bleh

Rented a “midsize wagon” (Avensis or equivalent) and got this loaded XC90 D5 R-Design.
First time I got to try the Bowers&Wilkins and the Gothenburg Concert Hall must be really weak cause the H&K in my F31 sounds better.
Car did have 25k miles so speakers could’ve been toast.
Still, 30mpg doing 80mph on highway and the rest in downtown Copenhagen is

For a rental? Yes, as they usually get replaced by that time.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 9:56 amIs 25k a lot or something ?Swedish Chef wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 7:23 am

I don’t care personally but I’ve seen several on Flyer Talk who’ll complain if they’re handed a car with more than 20k miles.

I believe so too as I know the concept of car mileage in Euro standards. 60k miles means high mileage there, atleast for Turkey or Greece.Swedish Chef wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 11:08 amFor a rental? Yes, as they usually get replaced by that time.

Avensis are really shitty cars to drive, durable appliance doe, but that's about it. One of my friends visited America for the first time and she was that there are so many japanese cars on the road, even though Hyundai's are pretty popular in Turkey, because :poverty:Swedish Chef wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 7:23 am

The question was posed because you stated that people complain above 20k miles ?Swedish Chef wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 4:18 pm> question whether 25k is a lot

I don’t speak for all of communist Europe, friend, but I said I personally don’t care much about mileage if the car is otherwise fine.

Yep they are done right around 30k or 1 year. Then they get resold to poors. Pretty decent deals for nearly new cars if you're ok with multiple abusers vs just 1 done doesn't mean off to the scrapyard.Swedish Chef wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 4:27 pmYou did state that a rental is done after 30k.

Helped my buddy do it, 25k miles on a 2006 Taurus IIRC for 8k it was 1 year old at the time. It was driven for another 10 years and 130k miles until it was abandoned by his mother... a Guadalupe slayer picked it up for $500 afterwards.
Nothing ever broke on that car, and I am pretty sure it may have gotten an oil change every 15k at best.
At that point you treat the car like a commodity, do some checks and get it ready to go. buying a rental mustang or corvette FUCK that.

Agreed, big
Just found the reciept from last year when I had a Chinese-built Volvo S90 picked up from Hertz at EWR.
That thing had 12k miles and the first morning after picking up the car, the pillar’s trim came loose when I grabbed the seat belt.

Agreed, but I would never consider purchasing a Ford Taurus either.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 4:42 pmHelped my buddy do it, 25k miles on a 2006 Taurus IIRC for 8k it was 1 year old at the time.
