Yeah the Appalachian trail runs on the top of the ridge you can see from my backyard it's pretty nice. Overall I like the rack but I won't be keeping it on the car when not in use. The wind noise is pretty loud especially before I got the fairing but I'm also seeing a pretty big impact on mpg.

As far as Myrtle goes I only know of the one place my brother in law goes https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7002890/the-hulk

There is a lot of video on it on YouTube
That's why I ended up throwing a hitch on the GTI. I do 110 miles/day round trip with 80 of it on interstate highways. Hitch was $100 and tucks nicely under the rear bumper.
Can confirm, it's tukt af

But think about how many scene points you lost by going with a hitch.

You have a speedhole? Better aero is always a positive.

BTW, if you ever get your car back check out that pedal spacer from WCT.

It's been back for a few weeks.

Just bought the spacer. I had something similar on the FoST and it was a huge help.

Well that's good. Steering rack came direct from the fatherland?

Driving with the spacer for a few weeks it definitely helps. In the little bit of hard driving I've done it's easier to reach the gas but I still prefer Mk6 pedals. It pushes the pedal out but also raises it so the bottom is about level with the brake.

Couldn't make the meat up yesterday cause my fiancee had friends spend the night and they didn't leave until noon Sunday but I did get out and ride my first trail in the afternoon. And I was gassed after about 10 mins lol. I had a good time riding but man I was not ready. Overall the place is solid and close to my house.

I got out on the cross bike yesterday. I only did like 15 ish miles, but a couple gravel paths and one MTB trail.

New wheels are nice. They seem fine. A bit more traction and cushioning, I ran them at 30 psi and will try 25 next. No burping or anything like that, nice and stiff in the corners. The Bitex hub isn't too loud but has great engagement, much nicer than my I9 hub on the roadie which makes such a racket.

Front brake is pulsing in power but not screeching or making any noise. Brand new rotors. So I'll have to figure that out and likely clean or adjust them. Not a huge problem as they do still work.

Free. Likely will have whiskey shots. Bring your flask.

I'm going to need some tarz for next year. Hopefully a 2.4 will fit up front and I'll try out some Ardents.

I’m sick of not being able to ride because of the weather, and I just can’t get in to a good rhythm on the spin bike without something to keep me engaged.
