I almost started to get the idea to dump the truck for a pre-owned 1500 SLT/Denali.
Would be dumb with the trade in value of the Colorado being in the shitter and the pending unemployment in April.

He is getting quite a bit more than you on this trade number as well. 32k... vs 29... seems fair to me especially for a non hookup. That 7k was gone the second he drove it off the lot, that's just how this works. You can't cars for free, it is insanely expensive. You buy a car you commit to 5-10 years. In a sub 12 month transaction especially with sales tax that expense is somewhere around 10k on the average vehicle (37K ATP)[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 1:17 pmYeah, but my sales price was quite a bit lower. I only paid $32500. 7k is a lot of crow to eat.

That's the name of the game, the MSRPs got inflated like crazy, so rebates bring it back down. Full sizers are inflated by 5 figures. A work truck is nearly 40k when it comes to full size trucks. Which is insanity.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 1:19 pmI blame rebates.
When I got my truck, I was able to take advantage of $3500 in rebates.
Rebates are the devil for resale.

If you trade...[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 1:28 pmExcept in states that do give a tax credit on trades. Much lower in that case.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 1:26 pm

I usually play the game very well, my SS sedan cost me nothing, my Z06 made me 4k and there were other scenarios where I came out ahead or broke even, I understand in some situations there will be cases of drastic depreciation values but $7k is hilarious.

How much it cost me to get out of a 370z that depreciated from 44k down to 27. Still lots of room to fall have been leasing since it is cheaper for someone in my state that s

So Saturday I drove out to my dads place to install my HID kit. barelllyyyyyy fit in the garage so it was a pain in the ass to work around the bumper and get the housings out. I got the passenger side wired up for HID low beam and tested it out; light was awesome but I got a ton of buzzing from the relay harness. Looks like instead of running a full relay harness I can run can-bus adapters and run right off the factory low-beam wiring.
Wiring it up with can-bus would be way cleaner, which I would prefer. Need to look into where I can mount the ballasts a bit more too.
I put everything back to stock for the time being and ordered up some Philips upgraded H11s for now. I'll wait for a warmer day so I can keep the truck outside and take my time getting the HIDs installed right.

I too my drove it the other day to fill it up for and remembered how much fun it is.
I really think I may buy it at the end of the lease and slap a blower on it and make it my only vehicle.
