I've actually never seen him on top gear. Only on YouTube Chris Harris on Cars.[user not found] wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 1:00 pmI love Harris. Great wheelman and personality.
Rory Reid was fantastic too, and Leblanc really grew into the role. I understand Leblanc’s reasons for leaving, it was just too time consuming and it kept him away from friends and family.
I just hope Reid wasn’t shuffled out and he stepped down on his own accord. That’d be a shit thing for the BBC to do.
All that being said, the last full season of Top Gear UK was fantastic. There was some genuine chemistry, finally. You can’t watch it and compare it to Clarkson/Hammond/May, but watch it an appreciate it all on its own. Paired with Grand Tour, it was nice to have two quality automotive shows to watch.

I liked Leblanc, I knew he was done, though.
Reid and Harris had real chemistry, and apparently Reid will only be hosting Extra Gear now. So, it's down to Harris, some cricketer, and a comedian.
We get to play this develop the chemistry game all over again.

Fun fact: The Recarbros on the miata are heated.
Now Mazda just needs to put a solid roof on it, or sell the hardtop that already exists for the 124 GT... How hard can it be?

I wish they had separated the brembo/bbs and recaro package. I want the Recaro's, but I don't necessarily need the brembo/bbs package.

Go price out forged and brembros and heated recarbros and report back.

It is far cheaper to buy the option than to buy the parts aftermarket.

What do you gain by having forged wheels other than bragging rights?troyguitar wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 10:10 amJohnny_P wrote:That's a really expensive package for wheels, brakes, and seats. All of which come on the base car.

Go with an aftermarket wilwood brake kit from flyin' miata and you can downsize to 15" wheels and save almost 14 lbs from the brembo car on the braking system alone $1200
15" RPF1s are cheap as shit and lighter than the brembo package wheels, $800 for a set and listed at 10 lbs saves 7 lbs per corner from the brembo car.
Set of 15" fun-spec tires? $800? Less?
Guess the seat is a thing. Just get a JDM bright red Bride seat for $1200 all in.
That's $4000.
Mount and balance another $100?
-$600 recovered from the stock rams/tires
-$400 recovered from the stock seat if you care
+$100 for amazon.com seat heater package
$3000. Brembo car is $4500 option package. And has an added 42 lbs of unsprung weight compared to the setup I posted. And it'll ride better. Other options is don't even bother with the wheels and just put better tires on the stock ones because the Brembo big dick forged wheels only save like 1-2 lbs anyway and your brake kit more than balances that out.
Sooooo yeah you can piece together a better system for cheaper.

You're going to buy a brand new $30k street car and rice it out into a track car with mismatched seats, a permanent airbag light because your seat airbag is gone (and the reduced safety that goes along with it), and unknown ABS calibration from fucking with the calipers?
I do agree that the are pointless but factory fixed calipers and heated recarbros are a real value over aftermarket shit, especially in a tiny car like a miata where most aftermarket seats aren't going to fit properly anyway.

In all reality I wouldn't do any of this at all. I'd be perfectly happy with the stock Club, and if I wanted more performance I'd go for a tire upgrade.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 11:26 amyour time is not free with dis. also seat airbags like said.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 11:00 am

I drive around for half a year with a TPMS light glowing at me. It's not a big deal.

This is why I’d prefer the seats were a separate option. I’d rather manage the tars/wheels/brakes on my own.Big Brain Bradley wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 11:26 amyour time is not free with dis. also seat airbags like said.Johnny_P wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 11:00 am

Same discussion on Miata forum. I dunno guys, when you add really nice shit like Recarbros, Brembros and forged sweet ramz bro, that kind of moves the Miata into a higher price bracket for a reason? Sounds like a pretty nice place to spend time. Obvi the best solution is to buy used from some old man with bad knees Corvette style if you could.
