If you don't want to track, a Boxster is a really great vehicle to grab up. Significantly cheaper than a Cayman with 'vert fun, get an '09+ S for less than $25k and be happy. I'd totally get one for street fun car.
I am not sure I'd "track" a E46 ... so not sure if it is a consideration. But yea, agreed on this, however you can't tell someone what to like, Coogles doesn't like Boxsters pre 981
E46 is actually a pretty common/popular/good track car. You have to do some stuff to it (subframe reinforcement...) but that's pretty much true of any car.
is commonly referred to as "track ready" and a great track car but it needs brake upgrades, radiator, seats to really be viable. needs a roll bar and can't work period if you're my size really.

2nd gen Boxsters have some pretty tall roll hoops and a few roll bars/extenders available in the aftermarket. But again, if you’re tall

Not sure... This is my bald ass trying to make an S2000 work. I've ridden in a Boxster but don't really remember. Cayman has a ton of headroom.
I’ve seen that one as well. In4results. NC values still seem artificially high to me, particularly when ND clubs are at about 20, private party even high teens at times.

NC Clubs are still in the high 10's and low 20's
I think (hope) the ND2 will drive all prices down.

there's a 100k mile z4m coupe with a terrible 2 tone paint job now FS in MS. It was local to me then dissappered into dillerman auctions and sad times.
Its now wrecked in the right rear but driveable. Mechanic bought at auction "for a steal" and wants $10k for it.
Corey also swapped a s54 into an AWD x3 lol. Runs and drives well.
I keep feeling the temptation to trade in the silverbrahdoe on a new SQ5. Still have 18 mo left of truck lease though and it is cheap as balls. It’s exactly 1.3SMP if I’m doing the conversion math correctly. While the SQ5 is 3SMP.
