On the flipside I never found the 6 speed to be bad performing. It also seems relatively reliable with epic genii pushing 400whp through it, which is double the design spec.
now that i think about it, I'm more :rage: at the transmission programming for mk6 and up on D, in manual mode it's decent, but thats about it.

I pretty much left it on sport mode for jetta loaners and tiguan loaner.
Jetta/Tiguan<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>NO DSG.

The brogramming on the MK6 was ok in regular and :fullretard: in sport it would senselessly keep the rpms pointed at the sky. I noted that the regular programming in the MK7 was MORE focused on economy than in the mk6, the car would always try to stay under 2k RPM.

The only slushboxes vw's i've driven are 2014 Passat 1.8t, Jetta 1.8t, 2 1.4t's, 2016 Tiguan Sport. I have heard about shifting at 2k when driven normally from my friend's old 2012 mk6 gti dsg. His sister who just got into her 4th jetta lease, her first jetta was a mk5 2.5 and I remember the tach shifted like 3k ish when I took shotgun and also told that she complained that her 3rd jetta seemed slower (her first 1.8t)

Man that's expensive. New cars are getting too rich for me.
Yea, that's just the way the cookie crumbles. Which is why most of us here got pay raises recently. Inflation is rampant
Rich getting richer. My pay has increased by 2.5% for the last 2 years. Meanwhile a fucking hamburger is $14 now and a beer is nearly $8. Everyday shit is up 50% vs 2 years ago.

I had this convo with someone else ... and they told me I’m :wrong: I don’t understand who runs the CPI calc, but I have seen a similar issue here. 40-70% increase depending on what you’re buying.
No more dollar menu.
$4 beer is now 7-9
$9-11 entre 15-19 now
Housing 50-70% increase since 2013/14

Generally agree about sport mode EXCEPT, it's pretty great when you're back road bombing. I tried it on the Dragon and found it either would shift right when I wanted it to or hold gear when I needed it to. Otherwise I almost never use it.

Other fun shit on the 2019 GTI:
-228 HP standard
-GoRf brakes standard
-7-DCT trans optional

Nice updates. With the 7-DCT and extra power it's probably faster than my car.
You also forget the 6/72,000 bumper to bumper and powertrain that would normally cost $2,500 third party to get an “extended” warranty on a 3/36,000
Or you could just get a reliable car where the warranty doesn't matter :zing:

Seriously warranty doesn’t truly matter, the irony is when you get it you almost never need it. But when you need it, say on a 8 year old amg Mercedes with 100k miles ... good luck :lolgasm:

Right, which will jack the cost of that burger to over $20, at which point I ain't going there, so the bar makes less money and closes and :manuel: is out of work but hey at least he got paid $15/hr when he had a job so we win right?

I haven't had a significant raise in going on 2 years now. But I have gotten more work and stress. Inflation seems to be going nuts around here too, yet somehow everyone is :thisisfine:

The country seems broken. Wage stagnation with steady inflation is driving us straight to a cliff.

2 years ago a large coffee was typically $2. Now it's pushing $3. Who cares right? 50% increase.

Is think any major metro area is in the double digits. Just simple economics, those in Bumfuck nowhere can rent a double wide for $300 a month that doesn’t get you anything here outside of a night in a holiday inn

Nobody gives a shit about cost of living when you're talking minimum wage jobs, get a bicycle or a bus pass and deal with the 2 hour commute from povertyland to work.
