Great news!datgrundle wrote: ↑Tue Sep 18, 2018 8:05 amYep! They got power back yesterday morning and the water didn't go much farther than the rainfall Floyd offered. They still have 3.5 feet worth of property before the flooding even approached the house. Most of the leave on the remaining trees are gone and the yard is a huge mess of fallen foliage. There were more mini tornadoes in this storm than Floyd so the damage that was incurred was more random and more severe. They are unhurt and their house is damaged. Because of the flooding my brother or myself won't be able to get to them for a few days.
Hopefully you meant their is UNdamaged.

As much as I detest the phrase fake news, the weather channel especially hyped this storm waaaay beyond what it was. Granted when it was a Cat 3/4 that super serious but it dwindled from there. This is when they can get ratings and they do whatever they can to get em.
Their whole business model is totally fear based, people lap it up and it's Awareness is a good thing, but there is no reason to hype it and cause massive panic.
So true.

Reminds me of being a kid and hearing my dad call our local pizza joint and asking what specials they had at the time.[user not found] wrote: ↑Tue Sep 18, 2018 12:09 pm Why do people call in and ask "Yeah, uh... do you have any lease specials right now?"
We always have lease specials. Just get the vehicle you want/that works for you.

Wonder if you ever had that chain while you were living in Cali.. Pizza Factory. Small chain, and they tend to be in smaller towns, but I did see one in Temecula when I drove up there to meet a few weekends ago. Really greasy and awesome.
I worked at the one in my town for a bit during my first or second year of college. I went to school Tuesdays and Thursdays and worked the opening and lunch shifts there MWF. They had lunch deals for slices of pizza plus salad and/or soda, and I'd always make extra pizzas to throw in the warmer where we kept the slices so that after the deal was over I'd get to take almost a whole pizza home with me every day.

Yeah, but I bet 50% of people dgaf what they drive. It's a tool/appliance for them and they just want what ever is cheapest and reliable.
