won't be back until late next week it sounds like. Tech didn't order up new seat covers like he should have, and was only concerned about getting a new leaf pack for the gangsta lean.
SA told him to go order the covers, 4-6 days for those to come in.

Vast majority of the time I'm doing 10 MPH or less.

I'm assuming that off-roading in real life is not what I'd hope for it to be - lots of

sideways action.

I'm more into the slow exploration aspect of it, not really into sending it off jumps and into mud.
That's how you break shit.

It does seem like those are the 2 popular options. I just want to go WOT without getting tickets on some smooth-ish winding trails, no interest in mud or jumps or rocks or being some kind of "explorer" - Oregon Trail was better as a pc game.

I often drive quite fast on flat dirt trails because my truck is so good at it. 50mph feels like

on dirt, and kicking the back end out is awesome and easy in 2WD with the rear end locked. No need to jump or blast through mud.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

That's more of my interest in off-roading, pretty much like a track day that doesn't cost $500+/day. Dunno how to begin to look for anything like that

and certainly couldn't

with a
I was thinking that a small faux ADV bike like the

man bought would be good. Ride out to camp, dump luggage, go

for awhile, eat some food and chill out. Like "backpacking" or MTB but more fun because of internal combustion.

Lots of guys do that and do some pretty epic trips. My interest in 2-wheeled things just doesn't quite translate to the motorized type for some reason.

I just don't know how to begin with something like that, especially since the first rule IMO is that you never ride alone. We used to do that same thing on snowmobiles back in the day and it was great, I figure there must be people doing it on dirt bikes or the little side-by-side things in warmer climates.

Find a forum or a Facebook group and start doing some light reading and then buy yourself a bike and commit to some rides.
The Mid-Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route was designed for adventure riding, I’m planning on doing some of it later this year with Dplac and hopefully a few others. I’ve gotta start planning that.

Forums and Facebook groups are great places to find other people to adventure with. I’ve gone wheeling with tons of strangers, it’s a good time.
I wouldn’t go alone unless you’re ridiculously prepared. The likelihood of getting a bike impossibly stuck is low, but some sort of spare tire solution would be critical. We go out alone in our

but only do so with the winch, tool kit, spare tire, etc, etc. I’m confident that we can get out of anything too hairy, but it’s still wise to go with someone else.
