Those with an excellent memory will recall that I was sideswiped back in June. Had the passenger side on my R repainted through insurance.

It looked OK at first. Few minor dirt nibs. Then noticed the holograms under certain light so I took it back to have them clean it up.

That was a month ago. It rained a bunch and I didn't want to wash it until the clear was a little more cured so I really couldn't asses it until I just washed it.

Still full of holograms.

Took it back and he said that it looks like that because my soap must be strong enough to wash the wax off. I said... "you told me you fixed it... did you just wax it? Aren't you supposed to not wax it for another months? Isn't that just like putting lipstick over the problem?"

He claims if I give the car back that he'll be able to make it perfect. The reason the wax didn't stay is because the clear is still soft and I should bring it back in October.

Spidey sense is telling me to run. The question I have is if I do just forget about this guy and his BS would a full paint correction do the trick?

Take it back to him and make him fix it. Most insurances fixes are guaranteed for life (or so they say) but in this case I'd say it's an unskilled polishing job.

Like I said before this is AFTER I already had them fix it once... third times a charm?

Alternatively you can bring it up to your insurance company and let them :dealwithit:

You are somewhat local... any suggestions? My guy at Horizon Detailing folded up shop.

Maybe I should just wrap the damn thing...

You still commuting to the NY metro area?

Look at Detailer's Domain in Norwood, NJ.
Bridgewater, NJ... so not quite as far as NYC metro. Have heard good things about them in the past.

I guess so! We'll have to meet up for a beverage one of these days. You know The Royal?

That sucks man. I'd call the insurance company and try to get them to pay someone else to fix it.
