Conversation with wifey tonight:

Pecs: I found a winch bumper for the truck.
Wifey: You need a windshield first.
Pecs: Here's a pic.
Wifey: Does it require any cutting?
Pecs: Nope, bolt on install that is completely reversible.
Wifey: :notbad:

As soon as you replace the windshield, it's only going to get hit again.

How bad is the damage?

Not terrible. Initial hit was low on the windshield, to the right of drivers seating position. It's spidered down to the end of the windshield and vertically upwards about 6-8 inches.

It's subtle and fully functional, what's not to love.
:dat:

Also, swapping to diesel front springs will negate the weight impact of the bumper and winch. :science:

D) all of the above.

1.25” Zone leveling kit
OE ZR2 rear lift blocks and U bolts
255/70R17 Wildpeak AT3Ws

Just a little extra clearance and a little extra traction. I was actually satisfied with the ride quality of the stock suspension off-road so I figured best to not mess with it until it’s worn out.
:notbad:

What made you go with the 255/70 size?

A 265/70 AT3W will rub the frame and sway bar on stock wheels at full lock.

It's not going anywhere. :derp:
:notbad:

So instead of being worried about spending too much on cars, you just spend a bunch more on :truk: so the car spending is lower in comparison. Brilliant!

You should run for Congress.

It's a mental thing. I blame Max and his stupid vehicle cost powl for triggering my feelings on that.

The :meata: is literally the perfect car to own for a long time. Mine is in good shape, it's not 100% perfect, but it's a car that I can drive hard without worry. Doesn't need special oil with ground unicorn horn, doesn't need overnight parts from der fuhrer, and the consumables are cheap and easy to come by. Everyone should own a Miata.

The only thing I'd get rid of it for is a clean NA Miata. But that'd be slow, and maybe only minimally more "fun" to drive.
Sounds familiar. Your :truk: will cost way more to own than the :meata: - especially since you never drive the :meata: anyway. No point cutting the tiny expense instead of the large one if you really wanted to reduce your spending.

It's a full inch taller than stock, plus 1" of altitude from the leveling and rear lift. It'll be a small but nice improvement. Also, it was mad cheap for the small lift. $50 for the front spacers, $60 for the rear blocks and Ubolts. :scrooge:

Tires were on sale for $118/ea from Discount Tire. I'll probably sell the stock tires for $300. Not a bad investment.

Plus, the AT3W looks great, too.

Yeah man, it looks really good. Little mild lifts like that are nice since they're functional, but like you said, don't really mess with the suspension geometry too much.

OnStar told my diller that my 710 was down to 20% and they called me to schedule my first service visit.

Added in the rear-view camera update, rear suspension lean, and my weird front seat cover thing to the visit for them to look at.

RVC update? Deets?

I'm fixing the lean myself. Waiting on suspension shim and new Ubolts.
Apparently this is an issue with the '18s and the camera they use. When it's night and you shift into reverse, the screen is bright AF. There is a software update that dims it down to a usable level.

Yeah, you're doing more suspension work than I am planning on right now. I'll probably just do a front level after my second service visit and be good to go.
