I have no illusions. We have good friends who are Indian and go back every year to visit family. I hear stories She is a pediatrician and he is some chemist guy. They're fascinating to talk to. Very stimulating intellectual conversations always ensue after dinner.

The half a billion people this article talks about covering with "free healthcare" are currently not covered.

Of course. Conditions for many are over there. No doubt. Those pro-business (anti-environment/public health) policies are the price they (and Jhina) are paying to catch up with the West economically. It sucks, but they're determined that it is worth it. And they've made tremendous strides, and will continue to. They're smart people and should not be underestimated. Healthcare is actually guaranteed in their constitution. We can't even say that.

Well, poorer people won’t be educated on safe sex or contraceptives. They also have no other “hobbies or pleasures” since they’re poor, so sex is a pretty good alternative.

at poor people have no other hobbies.. you throw out some ridiculous blanket statements sometimes.

Also, don't bail them out of every stupid little thing they get into - nothing worse than kids who couldn't own their mistakes in college and called home crying to mommy and daddy about being temporarily banned from university facilities due to breaking rules repeatedly.

The challenge is seeing the line. Can't Be like me. Nearly drown my progeny trying to be hands off.
