The other interesting metric is cost per mile. $600/month at 20k miles a year = $0.36 per mile to
Half of my vehicle cost is fuel.
Half of my vehicle cost is fuel.

Yea really puts that about fuel thing into perspective once you get shitty mpg+premium. Also due to all other expenses being so low...troyguitar wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 4:09 pm The other interesting metric is cost per mile. $600/month at 20k miles a year = $0.36 per mile to

You're not in the 1k club... but you don't drive eitherJohnny_P wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 4:05 pm Car: $38k OTD - $30k trade = $8k spent = $363/mo
Insurance: 900/6mo = $150/mo
Gas: lol? 1.5 tanks a month @ $45/tank = $68/mo
1 oil change per year @ $60 each = $5/mo
Registration $70/year = $6/mo
No maintenance, no wear and tear yet
Bought winter rams for $1400 / 22 months = $64/mo
So, $656? Am I DIR?
**Edited for OTD price**

That is impressively expensiveMexicanYarisTK wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 4:02 pm OTD $30,900
Depreciation neighborhood of $14-15k
$30,900 msrp
$2,080 maintenance
$2,090 wear and tear
$2,100 modz, inc labor as some not diy installed
$1,388 insurance
$7,080 gas
= $45,638
I have the car total of 46 months now so
$45,638/46 = $992

2011 Subaru Impreza wagon 70k miles (bought 3 yrs ago for 13k at 25k miles)

Insurance: $70/mo
Gas: $210/mo
1 oil change per 2 months @ $40 each = $20/mo
No maintenance, no wear and tear yet
$625..
I was hoping to be more than that but I do have a long commute. And it's close to being paid off.

Depreciation is dependent on the next deal so no figure supplied.

No payments
About 300 in gas and 280 in insurance. Zero modz. They are not required at all. The cars do what they are required to do and well. Maintenance is by the book. So that cost's what it costs. 2 oil changes per year. Tire swaps for winter and summer. Plus 1 alignment per swap. So about 240 per service with tire swap.

Looks like I overestimated my current fuel costs, I'm only on pace to do 16k miles this year due to using the wife's car for most trips. I'm probably closer to $500/mo total than $600.

Let's see.
Over the 36 months of the STi lease, I have -
Trade of $11,500 / 36 = $319.44 / mo
Payment = $141.33 / mo
Insurance = $1,312 for the year, $109.33 / mo
Gas = $80/mo
Registration = $500, so $41.66 / mo
All in I'm at $691.76 / mo

Monthly fuel expense is approximately $100.
Monthly insurance approximately $37
Repair expenses have been minimal thus far, maybe $1200, including a set of tars.
Paid $28500 OTD cash 92 months ago.
Does that mean it's cost me $460/month since day 1?

what would insurance cost if you had that by itself not bundled to anything?
If it's a real number you're doing pretty well. Plus your car is probably worth $5k on a trade, so that should factor in to the calc.

$13k then, worth something now too, maybe worth $6k? Over 40 months, so your car total is $175, you're under $500.datgrundle wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 5:50 pm 2011 Subaru Impreza wagon 70k miles (bought 3 yrs ago for 13k at 25k miles)

what it would cost if it wasn't bundled? The only thing that matters is what I pay. Why don't you believe me? I'm old, white, married, live in a good town with very low crime, have a clean record, and my car is 8 years old. Just got the renewal notice for $451 for both cars for 6 months.
Good point. Present value of my car brings down my monthly to right around $400.
