I test sprayed some color over the weekend. I thinned the paint too much and had runs, but, the gun sprayed really well, I'm pleasantly surprised.
Going to keep working on finishing up on the detail body work, just a few dings and dents here and there to fill, then I'll shoot the whole car with primer.

I know its spread out in a bunch of posts. But im lazy.
What equipment are you using for all of the body work?
Sprayer: Earlex HV5500 spray station.
What about everything else? Im trying to convince my brother not to plastidip his entire dodge ram.

Paint was all stripped with a Ridgid orbital sander (I've burnt up two already, on number three, thanks warranty)
I've been using Bondo, the regular shit, with regular spreaders.
The green primer is Duplicolor self etching, great for over existing paint, or POR-15, since it acid etches.
The light tan, beige primer is epoxy primer. Max Spray available on Amazon. It's good for over bare metal and makes a hard surface, so it's great for places where rock chips may occur.
Don't spray etch primer over epoxy, pro tip, epoxy over etch that's fully dried is ok.
That's pretty much it so far.
Paint:
Was all supplied by Paintscratch.com
They were the only ones who had the color.
Primer:
PCL Speed prime
Paint:
PPG Envriobase
Clear:
Idk off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure it's PPG, it's a 1k clear.

Get that Sunday off and come tear it up with me. From what I think I remember the last Cajun Field event had nearly 80 cars
Then again, getting that day off and doing absolutely nothing is good too.

I shot some clear, didn't do it right, and it came out bubbly.
Doing some digging into the type of paint I purchased, and the primer and clear are total shit, while the color is some super expensive shit.
So, I got good clear, and good primer, and a gallon of color, at a larger cost than I imagined.
Last weekend I stripped most of the primer off, and am awaiting epoxy primer to put on there this weekend, followed by the surface primer.
Next weekend I should have color and clear on it.
The parts that are painted with clear are staying bubbly, it sucks, but it's the underside of the trunk, hood, and the backside of the doors, not items you'll see.
Purchasing more paint to re-spray them would be a cost I'm not willing to take on.
One gallon of U92 PPG Envriobase is $950.
Two gallons of clear with hardener and reducer was another $1,000.
2k Primer surfacer was about $300 with hardener.
Expensive, yes, but still cheaper than starting over with the level of materials I want.
Also, the PPG materials I'm spraying on the car are OEM quality. With the epoxy primer I'm putting down, it should last another 30+ years.
Sure, there are cheaper systems out there such as Tamco, but, I didn't know all the until recently.
I chalk it up to the price of my auto paint education.
