Honestly, after driving the Jeep for 3 days straight I was a bit depressed getting back in the ZR2. The vibrations are higher in the ZR2 and the transmission could use some better tuning to compare to the JL as it just feels a bit harsh.
I'm okay with it though, in reality they serve similar but different purposes and going to the store and buying the Blackstone Griddle was much easier in the ZR2 vs trying to put it into the Jeep w/o scratching up the interior and dealing with putting a 180 pound box on the seats that are not 100% flat when folded.

I fell into a rabbit hole of YouTube he'll a few weeks back about this thing. 36 in flat griddle that is propane powered. It's pretty amazing to have on hand. I've got it started getting seasoned, think cast iron skillet. So far I've cooked basics on it as I get used to it. Quesadillas, hamburgers, grilled cheese, etc.
Checkout YouTube if you're interested. Will be epic for big breakfasts and fried rice, and...and...and... easily do Beni Hanna at home.
Also, with a truck or suv you can pretty easily take it camping.

Changed the oil in the ZR2 last night.
2712 miles, took a sample for oil analysis by Blackstone Labs.
Okay, whoever at Chevy decided to use the Audi/VW plastic housing with a cartridge filter and place it where they did needs to lose their job. There are AC lines and at least on my truck 3 wiring harnesses in the way to make a clean exit with the filter and the cover. Add to this that the ZR2 is just tall enough that I need a step ladder to visually locate the filter.
What the fuck is wrong with the traditional chevy screw on metal filters on the bottom of the engine near the oil pan? There's plenty of clearance room from what I saw under it last night. Also, luckily I watched a video beforehand, and have also had learned this lesson before.... but putting the drain bolt in parallel to the ground so when you remove it you shoot oil at the passenger wheel like ain't nice.
Anyway, it's done and the Jeep will get an oil change this weekend as well.
I think I'm going to send samples from both of these out to Blackstone for at least the first 20k miles and see how the reports come back.

All my other Chevy's have had the traditional filters that give unobstructed access when changing the oil. This is just idiotic.
At least the one that is on the JK and JL is up front and easy to access.
I might need to trade the ZR2 over this.

Yea, the oil filter placement is completely I really don't understand that decision at all.
I did chat with one of the engineers that worked on the engine in the 31xx, he said it was never supposed to go in a and they had to just "deal with" a number of the complications that presented.

Did it after 10k on my dads with the same power train. It is a decent engine, no oil burned in that longish interval and super easy to access everything and parts are cheap

Roughly 10K, depending on how you drive and if you use the oil life system.
