The guy somehow got it into his driveway. Every time I look out my front window and see it sitting there bashed in, I :lolol:

Can actually see it in my front security cam. It's parked behind his wife's CRV.

It's a bummer that I have Arlo setup to not record during the day when I'm home. Would have been an epic view of the tree falling on the van.
I love this and the story behind it.

Color scheme on your house looks great.

Are those post solid wood? Are they curved or is that just the fish eye effect?

My parents have that exact same downspout

Hungry today. Got a new meal plan from my coach on Sunday. I'm only about 300 calories below where I was, but my body is just burning through the food on the new plan. It's nice cause I was definitely struggling to hit all my meals on that other plan, but it's much easier now. Only thing that's a struggle for me so far is the cup of cottage cheese for dinner, and that's just because of the texture, I've never been a big fan.

I thought I owed $5700 in taxes, but it was only $5200.. I moved $5500 into my checking account last night to cover them pulling that out, but now that that extra $300 is in there, I might order a headliner for the :jeep: before we actually start getting some heat out here in SD...

The posts are wrapped rough-sawn cedar. Solid wood was unnecessary to too pricey.

We did this to the house a few years ago when it was discovered that the front of the house didn't have a foundation and was sinking into the ground. The porch was crumbling, so we went :fullretard:

Starting:

Digging out underneath for crawlspace

Roughed up:

Exposed aggregate concrete porch and walkway. We also pulled the crumbling white vinyl siding off and found mostly in tact original cedar siding that we had painted. Turned out 5/7.

$300 left over from that tax money.. plus I should be getting $170 back from my FSA that I spent at the dentist the other week... Hothead headliner with the rear window liners and the sound assassin strips are $420ish after a 5% discount on their site.. I think I'm gonna do it.

Very nice. Did they add the portico later? Is that why no foundation?

Entry way, not portico

People say it helps the acoustics inside too for the stereo, so maybe I won't hate that as much after doing this install, especially with the sound assassin strips helping cut wind/road noise.

Nope, it was original. The house's only FULL bathroom is above it. :fullretard:

The joists of the entry way were supported by underground cinderblock columns originally. The columns sunk, the ends of the joists rotted away, and the front started sinking.

Fortunately, we noticed it when buying the house, and got $10k off for it. Contractor only charged us $4k for that line item (fixing the foundation) so we came out slightly ahead.

I don't see how it's :plac: math. We had an extra $6k to spend on other things that we otherwise wouldn't have had.
