Is that red oak? I would have mitre cut the corners and sanded more. But the roughness of the frame and the technology it contains kinda plays well together
Pocket screws on that were a huge waste of time doe.

It is some kind of oak, not sure exact species. Miter joints are hard, the square edges are both easy and give it some of that transitional charm the wife and I like. I was trying to match the look of our fireplace which is a bit of a rough finish, so I accomplished the look i was going for. Pocket screw makes a really nice joint that one cannot see from the outside....not sure what else I'd have done

Used bessey straps and a dado in the table saw to cut the relief for the backing
Nice.
I wish I had the time and space to get into woodworking more. I've built a couple of radiator covers that function as window benches, and a few other things, but my workshop is in our laundry room so I don't have nearly enough space for good tools and a dust collection system.
Where are these mangos?

I don't understand anything anymore.

I get it. Before my first was born, I had planned on making my son a toy box from Walnut without fasteners. There seems to be no time. House in Michigan doesn't have the space and the garage isn't heated. Lot of my tools just sitting in the shed

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.
I love it. I wish the entire country would follow Florida's footsteps.
What does Florida do? Are they like AZ where there is no time-change because they're always on Daylight Savings Time? I would love that. I see no reason to set the clocks back in the fall and lose that hour of daylight.

if it's been approved by feds or what, but they are allegedly just leaving it as daylight savings time permanently from this weekend's change going forward.
AZ is always in standard time I think? I had a layover there Thursday and it was two hours earlier than East Coast, then another today and it was three hours earlier

Oh, I thought they were always on DST. That's what I'd want to do. Hope Florida's holds up and other states catch on.
