Got mah tarz, but it's 26F and salty out so I'm not going to bother installing them today. Maybe tomorrow. They look good

It looks both better and worse in person, the few cosmetic flaws definitely look a little worse in person but are mostly fixable - and the paint color IMO looks a lot better in person. It's less pure red and more of a pearl/metallic red-orange.

It's 32F out and the tarz are brand new, so no real impressions at this point other than they are obviously stickier than the old worn out shit. You can absolutely feel the shorter gearing plus reduced weight combo though, the car is noticeably quicker to accelerate.

Ramz look 5/7 and the 17/ :245: spec is fap worthy. Car doesn't age style wise... except maybe the tail lights. Euro lights blew up on Jap products of that era which makes me kind of chuckle.

That said it looks really good on those wheels.

Ballz. I just learned that all RX8's have TPMS and they're the crappy kind that use sensors on the valve stems, not wheel speeds... so now I have a flashing warning light all of the time until/unless I on sensors and re-mounting+balancing. For now I plan to try ignoring the light, but I think that it'll drive me nuts.

This is why my winter wheels have sensors in them. That little light annoys me.troyguitar wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 4:03 pm Ballz. So do they give you actual pressures ? Or are they the sensors that don’t do that yet cost $200 for 4troyguitar wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 4:03 pm Ballz. OEM sensors look like $60 each on Amazon right now.

There was also a period of time where the valve stems they used were faulty.troyguitar wrote:Ballz. I found that out after the second or third time one failed on my wife’s car. Pulled over at a gas station to check after the light came on. I found which wheel was the culprit alright. I went to unscrew the cap and everything just pushed right through into the tire.
All four eventually were replaced over the course of a couple years.

She's sold on the whole thing. Spending zero extra money, plus a lot less time and effort put into car shit, in order to get something newer and more practical that is also less noisy and more comfortable than anything else I've owned? Can't beat it.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 4:07 pm Car looks good. What does the Mrs. think about all of this?
The gas mileage sucks.

It's on hold, 99% gone at this point but I'm not taking down any ads until it's 100%. Ballpark $1500 in depreciation+maintenance+repairs in 10k miles and 150ish autox runs, probably closer to $3k all-in counting insurance, gas, etc.
