I just checked that on Amazon, that's $1k.
I'll probably buy another smaller one in the $50-75 price range that's higher rated than the el cheapo one I ordered last night. It's just a throwaway for use in my office.

I feel like a drone would be fun for 5 minutes then end up collecting dust in the closest.

Got the Mavic Bro this morning.
Bummer that the charging hub they give you can only charge one battery at a time and the car charger charges faster than the 110V charger...
I have ordered a multi-charger because this is going to get old fast.

I haven't tried the car charger. My 110 takes almost an hour to charge.

Updated the firmware and flew it for about 15 minutes. Pretty impressive... just need to remember to tap to focus when snapping pics or recording video or else you get some blurry shots.
Went against the rules and went into sport mode before really knowing how to fly, it's pretty fast. At 150 feet of altitude you can't hear the drone, but the view is good.

Don't forget to register with the FAA unless you want to get reamed in the anus if you get a dick cop.

I need to do that. Have had mine at about 450. Also had it about half mile out. I'm always nervous it's going to lose connection and fly away.max225 wrote:I got it to 600.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2017 3:18 pm Updated the firmware and flew it for about 15 minutes. Also it really KILLS the phone battery.
make sure to fly with more than 50% since it goes down by 1% a min or more.

One of the reasons I went the route I went, my receiver has a built in screen. I control everything from the touchscreen.max225 wrote:Yea that's the shitty part... Well the phone acts as the touchscreen. I am still learning... I'd prefer a bigger screen doe. 4.7 is pretty small.ChalupaBatman wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2017 5:40 pmOne of the reasons I went the route I went, my receiver has a built in screen. I control everything from the touchscreen.max225 wrote:

Agree. It's kinda guesswork when snapping photos as to how much exposure. I run my phone as well and have WiFi sharing open but only so I can view the photo right after I snap the shot. It's a long winded process but the only way I've found to see my picture in high resolution.max225 wrote:Well the phone acts as the touchscreen. I am still learning... I never had exposure issues. The pics turn out excellent. However the videos on anything other than 4k are
The drone does something wonky when it comes to downsizing the quality and it creates all kind of artifacts etc.

With the DJI app my Nexus 6p looks pretty good and gives an easy to see representation of the exposure value in real time.
What I noticed though, the controller itself will drain the battery kind of fast, especially if the phone is plugged in and starts trying to charge from the controller. Also, I know it will take some charge cycles to know, but it seems like even though I have 3 batteries for the drone, the remote will likely only last for 2 batteries used in the drone before it the controller needs a charge.
