The only bennie across the board is the power seats allow more minute adjustment than the manual seats tend to. On some cars the power seat allows you to change the pitch of the seat bottom, instead of being fixed to one pivot point when you're adjusting.
Learned today that the CRV's 2 key fobs are numbered and have different radio signals that will start adjusting the seat to the key when you unlock the car. So its basically in position when you open the door. Neat.
Drove it more today. I'm completely whatever on this vehicle. Probably should have bought the Toyota. But whatever. It's comfy and quiet and even though the fuel mileage is a lie it's still half decent.
Very good point on the minute adjustments. My 2003 Corvette had the key fob thing, it was actually annoying because you had to always use the same fob. if you always use the same fob
Hm. Interesting point. I might be able to turn that feature off. I don't mind pressing a button and waiting a second.
edit: yep it can be turned off

32 vs 40 mpg is no where near 20 vs 28z just a nature of the way we measure things in this great country of ours.
Anything above 30 is essentially double digit per month on gas … pfft
You're not wrong, but its at 30. Which is 1 off what the regular gas engine one gets. Looking on Fuelly, the Rav gets 10 better consistently, which means it achieves its MPG rating. Guess I should have checked real world MPG results before taking their word for it.
I looked also, after you mentioned it. It seems quite a few average 38. And others incorrectly code their crv into hybrid. Because I also don’t think you would get 30 in the regular if you’re lower in the hybrid. You’d probably be at 26-27. Either way I wouldn’t sweat it. Car works and is efficient
Car needs to break in as well. Dumb as that sounds.

No, that's real. The Cucktrek is getting more efficient by the week. The Ram improved from 16 to 17 after 4k miles.

Engine needs to break in itself, but also the hybrid computers that probably analyze mile by mile driving patterns and becomes more adaptive.

Yea, this is why unless a seat has memory function, I prefer a manual seat. I can get a manual seat adjusted the way I live from the position within seconds. A power seat takes forever. I don't get the obsession with power seats, I've never cared for them.

Do some memory seats not do that? My Corvette from ‘03 has this feature. I’ve never noticed of the Bimmer does or not since there’s only one key and only I drive it.
The car sounds like a great fit for your family, one less thing to worry about, it’s nice, new and reliable. Congrats man.

Regular is $3 here. It’s one of the few things that isn’t 1.5X+ the price of 2019.

Paid $2.95 at Costco for 87 yesterday.

Yea all the prices y’all posted are 30-50% higher than in 19-20 though aren’t they?
Considering how expensive everything else is paying $1-5 more for gas per gallon is the least of my worries, but obviously it all adds up.
No, 19 pre COVID was regularly above $3 here. We're still below 19 levels IMO. While everything else is skyrocketing, rather really.

Lowest gas was here was around $1.6x for 87. Also pre-covid

I don't really :remember: but I believe similar here - 2019 was ~$3, COVID it dropped down to ~$2 and now it's inched its way back.
The $7-8/gallon in Iceland certainly stung a bit , I would be a bit more cognizant if we were at that level, but then, I really only drive to MTB maybe once/week and bike most other places. Road trips are my main mileage and I would have a hard time giving that up.

Just accepted my Carvana offer - a quite ridiculous $21,105. It says they'll take a day or two to verify ownership, then off she goes.
The Outback is supposed to be here on 8/10.
Take the damn roof racks off and ship them to me.

I’d been waiting on a lease quote on a 4Runner from another and it’s within $40/mo of the Outback. It’s a silver Venture edition with KDSS. Head still says Outback just based on fuel economy and the ease of loading and unloading crotchfruit (the 4R is a little high for my short self), but heart says 4R for stupid ego reasons.

But what should he do??
Dude, if it is the same cost(ish), get the non-Seppuku wagon.
As a previous owner of a 4Runner and currently own an Outback...
Depends on how much driving you're doing really. 4Runner gas mileage was next level bad. Commuting 66 miles a day in it, with traffic going from 0-80 mph up and down the whole way, it wasn't great.
However, if I wasn't driving as much? I would probably still have it.
