No replacement for displacement. The only cars that don’t exhibit this are ones with bigger motors. The bmw i6s have near 0 lag. Same goes for the 4 liter V8 audis and Mercedes offerings

That sold the FoRS over the weekend so I saved myself two hours of driving and just tested the Hype R at the local CarMax.
Sadly there isn't a FoRS for sale within 100 miles of here at the moment...
I am trying to be patient, although I am kind of tempted to just scoop up a Hype R if anyone is willing to sell at MSRP. I may try to line up a couple drives Friday or Saturday, I'm curious to try out a C6 and C7.
Can't hurt to start putting out feelers to Honda . I remember that civicx forum had a naughty list so you can check there if any are local to you.D Griff wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 6:13 pmThat sold the FoRS over the weekend so I saved myself two hours of driving and just tested the Hype R at the local CarMax.

Test drove a Fuckus RS this morning.
The particular car was pretty with worn out steering wheel/seats, filthy inside and out ( said they got it on trade just yesterday and hadn't had it through the detail shop and such yet). It was listed at $33K + TTL with 54K miles... I certainly wouldn't be buying this example, but overall it is a very fun car.
To compare to the Type R:
Brakes are excellent on both.
Powah is a bit better in the Fuckus, I had less of the "turbos suck" mindset during the drive.
Clutch/shifter are meh on the Fuckus, not great, not terrible.
Handling/grip almost feels like cheating in the RS... you can just nail the throttle on a cloverleaf and stay in it until you run out of I feel like this car could be as fast as the around a track but would be way easier to drive. It is both fun and a bit lackluster at the same time. None of the "this car wants to kill me" drama (that the C5 has just a bit of) but all of the speed.
I think the RS sounds just a little better than the Civic. It's a bit more "Subaru-esque" growl versus a wail in the Civic.
Inside, the Civic is just way better across the board. It has WAY more room as well despite being a lot lighter - far better back seat and hatch. Both cars have good front seats, I think I prefer the R's slightly.
Ride quality in the RS definitely isn't great. It is basically on-par with the C5 with good shocks. I could live with the ride in any of the above cars but the Civic would definitely be more enjoyable.
overall both vehicles are pretty cool but I think I prefer the Hype R. I am how much the RS I drove being may have tainted my judgement.

Other than the obvious ridiculousness of a man 13 years away from Social Security eligibility driving a car with three wings, I would Hype R all day over the Focus.
Good reviews Dan, way to get in the fight.

I'd like to try out a C6 and maybe C7 as well in the coming weeks.
I am also in discussion with some Honderp locally, they are playing the hardball "we won't budge on $6K over MSRP" game.
I should go back and read yours as well, they were quite in-depth and helpful.max225 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 1:06 pmWow surprised you literally had a 5/7 match to my earlier write ups.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 1:01 pm Test drove a Fuckus RS this morning.

I am not as much of an interior guy as many, obviously, but I found the RS to be pretty disappointing. The backseat is borderline unusable. I sit waaaay close to the steering wheel, closer than most people 6" shorter than me, and yet I still could barely get in behind myself in the Fuckus. The Civic has tons of room. The sun roof is nice in the RS

If you're serious about the Focus RS you have to remember to make sure the Headgasket was changed... ford move...
Fun fact. FUCKUS RS is made in Germany... Hype R in the UK.
They are more EURO than a mk 7 golf/gti

It would be a nice ride at $40k... I am kind of leaning towards just replacing the clutch in the Corvette and waiting out this madness. Paying MSRP for a four year old car or 20% over MSRP for new isn’t feeling like it’s my thing.Irish wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 5:19 pm Here you go Dan, a mere bag of shells.....

I only log in to this forum once every year or so, but thought I'd chime in because I fully endorse going with a CTR. I signed the papers for a Boost Blue one yesterday and am having it shipped to me from Arkansas because everyone on the west coast marks them up $5 - 15k.
If you're willing to travel a bit, it's not too hard to find one. I decided I wanted to buy one this past Monday and had a deposit on one by Thursday after reaching out to 10 or so dealerships. Two of the ones I contacted had none when I reached out but later they told me they had some incoming at MSRP.
Use the civicx Nice List thread and it shouldn't be too hard (assuming you don't mind looking outside of local dealerships). My process for finding one was using Autotrader for a nationwide search of all blue Type Rs and searching dealer names in the Civicx forum to see if they show up in the "naughty" list, and if there is any reference to them in that thread, I didn't bother reaching out to them. It's a bit of work but doable (again, if you're willing to look outside of your local area depending on where you are).
My username on the civicx forums is PNWCTR and I posted a few at MSRP over the past few days, but they've both been spoken for at this point. https://www.civicx.com/forum/threads/ct ... 0/page-311
The Type R has been kind of a dream for me the past few years and I can't wait for that ridiculous looking car to get here.

You’re going to be waiting for a long time. Just bear that in mind. If you want to drive it now ... that’s the price to pay. I don’t foresee it dropping much in the next 2 yearsD Griff wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 5:54 pmIt would be a nice ride at $40k... Can't complain here. I've also remained employed and relatively healthy through covfefe 19, though we went through a 5 month pay reduction last year. I'm fully vaccinated. Family is all healthy. I got a 2019 Pornflower Blue Meanie Rabbit last year after my Mk6 was murdered by fucking Stuart and his F150. Otherwise, just sitting here waiting for Europe to open up again so we can get over there some time this year. Wifey has to renew her passport and get vaccinated first,
