Awesome, thanks for the info! Maybe my boxes didn't even break it and I just noticed it after as a coincidence.
It's also caused mostly by heat, and with all the time you've spent in AZ and NV, that's probably what did it. Surprised it's made it this long TBH. Our JL had the fix done before we bought it, can tell because they have to sand the coating on the back window slightly to get proper adhesion for the connector.

More than likely.

You also don't need the defroster on the back, neither does waxer more than likely.

Our cars do frost here for some months, but whatever. That's what the heated mirrors are for.

For some reason, I noticed on my JK that the plastic windows didn't really frost up...and what frost did form melted pretty fast once the cabin was heated...MUCH faster than glass.

I bought my Tahoe in 2012 with this problem. The wire has hung there unattached ever since. I have needed my rear defrost one time. Because I live on the sun.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 11:15 am Gotta take mine in for a couple of recall checks, and I loaded it up with flattened boxes this weekend and ended up ripping the rear defroster wire off the window. Looks like the solder connection just gave up and released. Fully expecting to be told I need a new rear glass.

We never use it, but it will bug me anyway now that I've seen it.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 2:11 pmI bought my Tahoe in 2012 with this problem. The wire has hung there unattached ever since. It's SUPER visible in the RVM, I'd absolutely fix it. Would be covered under warranty, and if you're out of warranty, it shouldn't be that costly or take long to fix.CorvetteWaxer wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 2:13 pmWe never use it, but it will bug me anyway now that I've seen it.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 2:11 pm

Those are massive vehicles now and will likely end up the same price as the 392 bro JL. For just the two of you, a JL would work great IMO.

I will likely give it a shot but as her primary driver? Gonna be a hard no dawg. More likely going to be something I would trade the Corvette in on. In addition to the MX thang, I (we) are looking at a condo in the Durango, CO area to split with a friend of mine, and that's where the Jeep would shine.Detroit wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 3:13 pmDesertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 3:11 pm

They may be massive, but I drove a buddy's Tahoe Premier with the 6.2 and the ten speed........and it was a luxurious and reasonably quick vehicle. That's a rare truck though, much more common are the 2018 and up Denalis with the same powertrain, which are starting to fall in priceDetroit wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 3:13 pmDesertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 3:11 pm

I will have a look at the SRT GC. The simple fact though is that my woman likes wheeling a big ass truck around. I feel kind of bad? I mean, a 440i or a C6GS is a decent car selection whilst she pilots a 17 year old truck but she literally gives zero fucks. So she gets taken care of next. And the steering and ride of a Wrangler is not her jam.Detroit wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 3:43 pmAbsolutely.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 3:41 pm

SRT GC would be an impressive upgrade from the ol’ Tahoe.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 3:49 pmI will have a look at the SRT GC.
