That is pretty interesting... we have received ZERO indication that we will be expected to go back at any point in the foreseeable future (tech company based in far less progressive NC and UT). Back last year they would periodically release updates about when we may go back, but now it seems no one's asking and the exec team doesn't seem to care/bring it up. The company is minting money, so I don't think many feel it's necessary. Some departments might be in discussions, but sales hasn't been one of them.max225 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 2:06 pmWhat are your WFH options ? California is "opening" up fully on 6/15 so there is a strong expectation for people to be back in the office at least part time. And that's from a state that CUCKS THE MOST of any other state. And with "progressive" tech companies where people went to WFH before anyone else.
I am a little because I like being at home at this point.
2 months is really not a long time. I know michigan is going through a solid covid wave but based on vaccine roll out etc ya'll will be through it by june also.
What is the commute like? Selling the seems a bit to me... the trouble is, nothing is really that great sub $20K. I mean, yeah, you could get a Prius for very cheap, but that is pretty fucking depressing. Past that, to avoid anything that's not a total shitbox, you'd be at close to the , seems not worth the effort unless you just want to mix it up or you're looking to get something more fuel efficient, in which case I'd just get a new Civic Si or something and see if the difference could knock out the rest of your loan.SAWCE wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 1:27 pmYeah if the new gig was full WFH I’d off the Jeep and just uber to the gym until used prices drop. Oh well. I’ll browse around and see if anything seems worth me putting the time and effort into making a move.max225 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 1:07 pm
Yep I hear ya. I would likely keep the jeep. It will likely keep most of its value and its fun to cruise with no top etc. Anything under 10 or even 20k is just going to be either a headache or a shitbox. Horrendous time to buy any used/new vehicle at the moment.

Commute isn’t bad. Between work and the gym I average about 100 miles a week.D Griff wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 10:10 amWhat is the commute like? with those miles.
We're less than $500 below our OTD price 1.5 years ago. So we paid less than $500 to have it 1.5 years and put 9k miles on it.

It is funny because she commutes in it daily-ish but her job is six miles from here... but the road trips really add up, 7K cross country, two trips to FL totalling over 1K miles each, a bunch of drives to the mountains and beaches here in NC.

The man from the desert suggested British Broadcasting Channel for the Gal. I mentioned that she is more of a "Fox News" gal. It was a pun. To unravel this onion further obviously it was more of a reference to aka BBC. But it was a pun on a pun. Come on PEOPLE!

One fun fact about Toyota, which really makes me appreciate the brand more, is that they stress test on every single component, even when they start to make the new supra with the b58 engine, they failed their stress test and Toyota brought it back to Munich to build a better part, which is probably why Supra entering the market took that long. The supra bmw engine basically has stronger hardware which I've been told, and I can see why.razr390 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 12:42 pmUsed I’d go Toyota. As boring as it is, beat up slantyH and KIAs aren’t that good. GDI engines and carbon buildup is a bitch in the older ones.SAWCE wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 11:18 am
I had that thought. I may throw it up on a few sites and see if anyone bites. Need to look at what I could replace it with. Probably just grab an appliance Civic or SlantyH, but no clue what those are going for used.
I owe $7k, so ideally I’d pay that off, buy something used for like $10-12k, and just cushion my savings account with the rest in case any thing comes up while I’m making less money.
