I did thousands of miles of "off-roading" on snowmobiles over the years and we went out of our way to find the smoothest trails possible. Bumps aren't fun. In a car in CA you have some of the best roads in the world available, go drive those.

MrH made out well with his 4runner but I don't see the appeal of it over a GC or Wrangler. If it's gonna drive like shit get the Wrangler, and if you're looking for something more substantial than a Wrangler that drives better get a GC.

You guys constantly complain about road conditions too. Why the fuck would you seek out even worse roads if you hate bad roads?[user not found] wrote:That's like, your opinion, man.troyguitar wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 8:35 pm Exhausting is driving all day on a shitty road to nowhere.

Slamming potholes is just a wee bit different from driving trails and enjoying the outdoors.troyguitar wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 8:38 pmYou guys constantly complain about road conditions too. Why the fuck would you seek out even worse roads if you hate bad roads?[user not found] wrote:

Honestly I definitely see the appeal of a truck... Maybe it's just Texas wearing on me.

Couldn’t quote from the other thread... so I will here.Desertbreh wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 6:38 pmMy buddy bought a TRD SR5 for like $40Kish. Drove it for a year and a half. Then it got hailed on. They bought it back ALL fucked up for $33K, plus his $8K hail check and he got a new Limited for like $42ish. Pretty decent way to roll.max225 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 6:15 pm https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/d/ ... 85316.html
This dickwad wants 42.9k for a 44k 2 year old Turd. Either way to me this thing is sort of a toy. It drives like shit on normal roads compared to most cars. The ruggedness is appealing if it comes at a discount not a premium.
Yes, TRD 4R looks decent but it’s like the Civic Type R is a cool version of a commuter car, TRD is a cool version of a mom car. Wrangler or FJ are more unique vehicles to me. soft top is the only type of I’d want.. Tahoe I’d do if I needed the room/towing, but only Jeep for the sake of fun over a more fun car option.

Human nature is to rarely like anything we HAVE to do (like jobs) and want something different than what we have (like being away in the outdoors when we’re stuck in traffic and an office for 55 hours a week).

Brand new Chevy Camaro SS in green.
Automatic emergency braking has saved us from 3 accidents already.
This car sucks for MPG. We killed 1/4 tank today driving to lunch, office, dinner, and hotel. I bet it’s getting about 12 MPG.
The gigantic air vent controls are stupid.
Nice inside but horrible use of space. But nice. The infotainment is angled down for no reason. Can’t rest elbow on window. But it seems decently well made. Good stereo.
Visibility is horrific. You can’t see anything over your shoulder or on the opposite side of the car at all.
Car is fast as fuck and sounds awesome above 3k. Under that it sounds like an industrial rock crusher.
The Schwinn trans is good.
Laughable trunk. The opening is so tiny.
We both kind of like the Challenger more. But this is certainly fun, as long as my boss doesn’t wreck it.

Sounds like fun.
Drove the Elantra around Manhattan/Hermosa Beach a bit this evening. I don’t really like it, but I’m impressed at how decent cheapo cars have become. It’s comfortable and nice enough inside, seems to have a lot of tech I don’t care about... Car Play doesn’t work with the charging cable I brought so I don’t get to try that sadly.
I find I don’t hate the CVT, if you need a slush box it works well and efficiently. Not my thing but it’s sufficient.
