They only buy Rubicons because they have to. Sport isnt available with enough hardware. Bronco is changing that, which will be major
Broncos are pretty pricy also... but yea IMO Bronco is the better overall rig at this point in time. I am curious how FCA will address this. Obviously there is a lot of brand loyalty within Jeep so that will be an uphill battle.
But man... FRAUD went 5/7 on this. I'll give them the credit where it is due. Pending no doom once they launch, which is very possible.
I'm that Ferd got so much right on this thing.
The production launch is a different question, but after the Explorer/Aviator was so publically bad, I doubt there will be many issues...high level jobs are likely on the line.

My guess would be that Chris took some time off because he has read the dialogue on this page 1,345 times and decided to spend some of his free time doing something besides beating a horse to death.

I have friends who would’ve never shopped for a Wrangler or even understand it be at the Bronco. They (car guys) believe Ford knocked it out of the park by making “Bronco” the class/segment name and then offering a slice of whatever the consumer wants for their budget/needs.
They think Bronco will sell more due to this. Especially in the “Sport” crossover/like version to the average mall crawler
The Sport is being mostly overshadowed by the "big" Bronco, but I think is equally interesting. I bet they'll sell a ton of those, I dig it a lot.

Their launch was 2/7 compared to the JL launch. A lame ass 10 min video and that's it... but then again "these trying times"

I'm sure they had a plan that was nuked by "trying times".
Production is going to be a whole different ballgame. There's insane amounts of build complexity here, and with suppliers and plants running half-assed because of the virus, it's going to be an epic challenge getting these things on the road with minimal issues.

Yea... Where are they building it? And what's that plant capacity... curious about that.

Michigan Assembly, where they currently build the Ranger. It's in the metro Detroit area. I don't know what the total plant capacity is, but they're expanding it greatly right now. I camped with a buddy this weekend who's a project manager for one of the main IT suppliers at the plant, and he said it's been going better than he expected so far with all the virus stuff.

Honestly it's no different than the JL launch which was crazy as well. I feel like JKs were awesome if you love but kind of shitty cars, the JL really addressed so much of that with a nice interior, tops that are easy to operate, better ride, better handling, better automatic transmission, passable fuel economy, etc. I always liked Jeeps but never particularly wanted to daily one pre-JL.

They basically copied the Wrangler and addressed it's shortcomings.
Yea...but it's just not that easy for Ford. The new Explorer is embarrassing...and it's in the most crowded segment in the industry, so there's plenty of others to copy.

Yeah the overhead speaker bar is one thing that's nice on the Wrangler that it seems Fraud isn't copying / one-upping.
I like the lack of a b-pillar horizontal support. Legit open top. And easy remove panels on the front and rear seats is superior to the Wrangler top that can only easily remove at the fronts. I dunno, tradeoffs.
One really cool thing is the accessory mount bar on the dashboard. WAP's dash mount compass wouldn't look out of place on it
Where are these mangos?

DFD. The forum where everybody makes the same choices and then tells anybody trying to join the club that they are the stupidest motherfucker to ever walk the earth.

It's awesome when the top's off...which lets be real, most people will only do once or twice and never again.
I attribute a lot of the audio sound quality in my truck with the sound bar, will be interesting to see how Ford solved for that.

I wanna know if they fixed their seat collapsing problems. I.e. typical ford shit. Weird thing is I trust FCA a lot more than Ford despite every initial quality study saying FCA is basically the worst.
I think looks like complete ass compared to the JL, but Ford doesn't really win awards for their interior. Sync system? YUK. I hope this one is more than just a bigger screen with the shit OS.

Yeah, isn't that weird? I feel the same way for some reason. But nothing broke on the interior of my JK or JL, and they have one of the best infotainment systems you can buy that isn't some wild $9k option on a high end car. The Uconnect 8.4 and 12 systems are really, really good.

All the fords we have owned were fine for a few years then at like year 2 or 3 they had something major go wrong. I have no FCA ownership experience but they seem to have a few issues early on then stay decently solid.

I have a ford with 408k miles and a non collapsed seat... I had 2 lincolns with over 100k miles, and I had T bird and a Mercury cougar... all were fine. I haven't had a fraud since 2000 so who knows...
